Specification forming 'part of Design No. 5,085, dated July 4, 1871.

To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, ELEMH: J. NEX'. of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented or produced a new and original l )esign fora Pattern to be inyyrought into lngrain and other Carpeting' in eolors similar to those painted on the drawings or photographs accompanying this specification, or in other colors substituted in the. place of those painted on the drawings or photographs herewith, and l do herehy declare that the drawings accompanying this speeitieation do give and convey, to any one skilled in the art of carpetweaving, a detined and thorough description of the nature of my invention, and are sufficient to enable any one skilled in the art of carpet-weaving to nso my invention.

What l claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

'lhe configuration of the design hereunto air nexed, when applied to carpeting` in tho form similar to the` drawings or photographs accontpanying this Specification.
