IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED SQUARE AND GAUGE.

TO ALL WHOM IT 'MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, THOMAS C. IIENDRY, ot Union Point, in the county of Green, and State of Georgia, have invented a new and improved Combined Square and Gauge; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof', which willqenable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference bein'r had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a. side view of my square and gauge.

The nature of' this invention consists in combining a gauging-device wit-h a common carpenters square.
Annd B are the arms of a square.'b In theshorter arm B is a slot, d, running nearly its whole length, the said slot having V-shaped edges, as shown at fig, 2. A sliding butt, consisting et' two plates a a, held together by a screw, b, fits into the said slot (I, and is movable to und lfro in the slot, the friction of the same being adjusted by the screw b. I am aware that movable peints have been patented, but the points were attached to a. T-square, and were intended only as a substitute for dividers, land were propcrl)v a dra-agliting-instrument.
llavinfnr thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
'lhe combination of gauge-points z' and i with an arm of a common square,`by means of a. slot, d, and plates a a, or other equivalent device, substantially asrshown' and described, and for the purpose specied.
