ABEL H, BARTLETT, OF SPUYTEN DUYVIL, NEV YORK.
REFRIGERATOR.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 22,104, dated November 23, 1858.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, ABEL H. BARTLETT, of Spuyten Duyvil, in the county of lestchester and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improve ments in Refrigerators; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing, making a part of this specication, in which the tigure is a perspective view of my improved refrigerator, the front being removed to show the internal arrangement.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the figure.
To enable others skilled in the art to fully understand andv construct my invention I will proceed to describe it.
J, J, represent the outer casing of the refrigerator and 7i., 7L, represent the inner case; O, O, space between the inner and outer casings.
C, C, is the ice receptacle.
D represents the ice, and S are slats t'or the support of the ice.
M, is a door which opens into the ice receptacle.
G, is the lower angle of the ice receptacle which contains the ice water.
F, is the ice water outlet or over flow pipe; any exit of water enters this pipe F, at its uppermost section and runs ott through the opening t.
7c, is an opening` to admit thc air. Partoi' the air passes over the ice and through the openings E, E, following the direction of the arrows down the spaces O, 0, and finally out at the opening L, and part through the ice and through the openings e, c', e, e', then down through the provision chambers B, B, through the openings ll, N, N, N and finally out at the opening L, as indicated by arrows.

fhat I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- The wedge form and position of t-he ice and water receptacle D and c, dividing the provision chambers B, B, arranged substantially as and for the purpose specified.
