Abstract

An eyelash extension strip, a kit, and a method for using such strip or kit are disclosed herein. The strip may be bent to form a ring around a user's index finger, with the eyelash extensions outside the ring, separating from each other, which saves time for the user for separating and grasping an individual extension with tweezers. The eyelash extensions on a strip may have various lengths to imitate natural lashes and a sufficient number of extensions for just one use so that the strip may be disposed of for hygienic reasons.

Description

    BACKGROUND
  • Eyelash extensions are designed to enhance volume and length to natural eyelashes. Eyelash extensions can generally be categorized into three types—cluster lashes, strip lashes, and individual eyelash extensions, and each type has its advantages and disadvantages. Individual eyelash extensions are applied one by one to a natural eyelash by a professional technician and therefore, when properly applied, create a more natural look.
  • Existing individual eyelash extensions are packed loosely or attached to a strip. Loosely packed eyelash extensions need to be oriented before use. As to eyelash extensions on a strip, the technician would put the strip on a surface and grasp the needed lashes from the strip with tweezers. Either way, the eyelash extensions are placed on a surface for the technician to pick up one by one and apply glue for attaching it to a natural eyelash. Depending on how many extensions used, the process may take at least an hour to several hours.
  • Currently known eyelash strips contain only same-length eyelash extensions. “Natural-look” eyelash extensions, however, require lashes of different lengths. But because presently known eyelash strips are all the same length, a technician must access multiple strips to apply lashes of different lengths. This results in a plurality of partially used lash strips when the technician is finished with the client. Partially used lash strips present a problem: either the technician must throw out the partially used lash strip (thus wasting lashes) or the technician must re-use the partially used lash strip on a new client (which, of course, raises hygienic concerns). Therefore, a solution is needed where eyelash strips are used more efficiently and technicians are not tempted re-use lash strips on multiple clients.
  • SUMMARY
  • The structure, overall operation and technical characteristics of the present invention will become apparent with the detailed description of preferred embodiments and the illustration of the related drawing as follows.
  • The invention is incorporated in an eyelash extension strip, an eyelash extension kit containing a plurality of single use strips, and a method for using such strip or system. The extensions of any one strip preferably have lashes of different lengths in a sufficient amount, which permit single client use. In this way, fewer strips are needed for each client, and a used strip can be disposed of, reducing the possibility of reusing the remaining lashes on a second client or wasting too many lashes.
  • The preferred embodiment is a flexible, bendable strip that comprises at least two eyelash extensions of different lengths. The at least two eyelash extensions are removably attached to the strip for a user to detach it from the strip with tweezers. Preferably, the extension is partially coupled to the strip, at the extension's root (proximate end), and the extension's curve (distal end) extends away from the strip. With the extension attached to the strip at its root, the user may directly grasp the end of the curve and dip the root to the glue cup or stone. No orientating of the extension is needed.
  • In addition, the strip is flexible and bendable so that the user may bend the strip to form a ring around the user's finger (preferably index finger), with the at least two eyelash extensions outside the ring. For coupling to the user's finger, the strip may further comprise adhesives, preferably re-adherable glue, at any part of the strip, such as at the whole back surface of the strip or partially at either one or both of the strip's ends to hold its ring shape. In the alternative, the user may wear a ring and couple the strip to the outside surface of the ring using re-adherable glue or other suitable coupling. Likewise, the strip may include clips, magnets, or any known mechanisms to form a ring and attach to the user's finger.
  • Furthermore, the strip of this embodiment preferably comprises a plurality of eyelash extensions. The more than one eyelash extensions on one strip preferably align at their roots with one side of the strip. By coupling the strip to the user's finger, the user may save time by skipping some steps for the whole eyelash extension process, such as orienting the extensions and moving tweezers back and forth between where the loose extensions are placed, such as a table, and the client's lashes. Moreover, by forming into a ring, the extensions separate from each other at their curves (distal ends), which makes it easier for the user to grasp the individual extension with tweezers.
  • Another embodiment is an eyelash extension kit which comprises a backing and at least one flexible, bendable strip removably coupled to the backing. The at least one strip, like the embodiment above, has at least two eyelash extensions of different lengths removably coupled to the front surface of the strip. Also like the embodiment above, when the strip is removed from the backing and bent to form a ring, a back surface of the strip may be temporarily attached around a user's finger. The strip may have adhesive applied to its back surface, either wholly or partially, or other alternative mechanisms for removably coupling the strip to a user's finger.
  • Another embodiment of this invention is a method for using a flexible, bendable eyelash extension strip to perform eyelash extension. The embodiment comprises at least the following steps:
  • 1. retrieving the strip that comprises at least two eyelash extensions of different lengths removably coupled to a front surface of the strip;
  • 2. bending the strip to form a ring around a user's finger, with the front surface outside the ring; and
  • 3. grasping the at least two eyelash extensions from the strip.
  • The strip in this embodiment may have the features as stated above. Additionally, the embodiment may include coupling two ends of the strip together to form the ring.
  • One object of this invention is to provide a single-use lash strip comprising multi-length lashes.
  • Another object of this invention is to provide a packaging of eyelash extensions that include necessary eyelashes for just one use, thus reducing hygienic issues and waste problems.
  • Another object of this invention is to provide a packaging of eyelash extensions from where the eyelash extensions may be grasped easily, without any orientating before use, and thus saving time.
  • Another object of this invention is to provide a packaging of eyelash extensions that may be placed near the client's eyes, thus saving time for moving the extensions from a table to the eyes.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS OR PICTURES
  • FIG. 1 shows an embodiment including a strip and a plurality of eyelash extensions of multiple lengths.
  • FIG. 2 shows the embodiment in FIG. 1 when it is bent to form a ring.
  • FIG. 3 shows another embodiment that has a backing and multiple eyelash extension strips.
  • FIG. 4 shows another embodiment that has a backing and multiple eyelash extension strips, the eyelash extensions on a strip having various lengths.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS
  • The preferred embodiments are illustrated in FIGS. 1-4. The embodiment in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a flexible, bendable strip 10 that has a plurality of eyelash extensions 110 attached to the front surface 120 of the strip 10 at their proximate ends 111. All of the eyelash extensions 110 in this embodiment align at their proximate ends 111 with a side of the strip 10, while the distal ends extend away from the front surface 120. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the plurality of eyelash extensions 110 on the strip are not all the same length.
  • In FIG. 2, the strip 10 is bent to form a ring around a user's index finger, with the front surface 120 and the eyelash extensions 110 outside the ring. The user may hold the ends 130 of the strip 10, or the strip 10 may have any mechanisms, such as adhesives applied to its back surface (not shown) or its ends, for keeping the ring shape and coupling to the finger. By forming the ring shape, the eyelash extensions separate from each other at their distal ends 112, saving time for the user to separate and grasp an individual extension with tweezers.
  • In addition, the eyelash extensions 110 in FIGS. 1 and 2 have various lengths to imitate natural eyelashes that have different lengths at different areas of an eyelid. The extensions in this embodiment have the same curvature. But depending on the look desired, the thickness, lengths, amount, and curves of the extensions on a strip may vary.
  • FIGS. 3 & 4 show embodiments 20, both having a backing 210 and a plurality of strips 220 attached to the backing 210. Each of the strips 220 in these embodiments has multiple eyelash extensions 221. In FIG. 3, the extensions 221 on each strip have the same length, while those (221) in FIG. 4 are of various lengths. In addition, some embodiments (not shown here) may have a backing and multiple strips, each strips comprising a different combination of extensions, such as extensions with various lengths, curves, colors, and so forth.
  • Moreover, the strips 220 of the embodiments in FIGS. 3 & 4 have re-adherable glue on their back surfaces (not shown) for temporarily attaching them to the backing 210. The same glue may also be adopted for removably coupling the eyelash extensions 221 to the strips 220 or strips 220 to a user's finger or to a ring on the user's finger.
  • While the invention has been described by means of specific embodiments, numerous modifications and variations could be made thereto by those ordinarily skilled in the art without departing from the score and spirit disclosed herein. The strip, the eyelash extension(s), and the backing may be made of various materials and have various suitable sizes and shapes. The number of lashes on a strip may vary. Any number of strips on a backing may be adopted. Although adhesives are referred to in the descriptions above, a person skilled in the art would know that any suitable mechanisms for coupling an eyelash extension to a strip, a strip to a backing, and a strip to a user's finger may be used.
