Abstract

Cone Shaped Brella Slipper—is a convenient, sleek, and fashionable method for containment of a closed wet or dry umbrella. Comprised of five essential components: First the Interior Shell constructed of water proof material, thus preventing damage to the Exterior Shell and to maintain the shape and form, has an open bottom end or optional closed bottom end by folding a portion of the bottom end toward the top, secured with a snap or Velcro to contain water from a wet umbrella. The Exterior Shell constructed of a variety of fabric depicting casual style, elegance, or durability. Third, the strap, attached inside or outside the circumference of the upper end, or attached anywhere along the length, to suspend the Brella Slipper from the user's shoulder, which allows adjustment for the height of the user. Fourth, is the Protective Collar, which fits over the lip of the upper or bottom end to protect from wear. Fifth, the out of view Inside Pouch Pocket, with snap or Velcro for closer, of the Interior Shell, or the Slit Pocket, sewn to the inside of the Exterior Shell, with a snap or Velcro closer for security.

Description

Cone Shaped Brella Slipper—is a convenient, fashionable method for containment of a closed wet or dry umbrella. Comprised of five essential components; First the Interior Shell constructed, of water proof material, as to maintain the shape and form, also is the removable soft shell with a folded bottom end, or has an open bottom end. Second the Exterior Shell constructed of a variety of fabric depicting casual style, elegance, or durability, has an open bottom end. Third the Strap attached to suspend the Brella Slipper from the user's shoulder, allows adjustment for height of the user. Fourth the optional Protective Collar fits over the lip of the upper and bottom end to protect from wear. Fifth the out of view optional Inside Pouch Pocket, or the Slit Pocket allowing excess from the outside, both sewn on the inside of the Exterior Shell, with a snap or Velcro closer for security.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The umbrella is a rain gear of choice and valuable for commuters who face unpredictable weather for short periods in connecting with otherwise protected modes of transportation.
Despite their obvious advantages, umbrellas have always presented a problem when wet. The preferable method of dealing with wet umbrella, if space allows, is to place them open in a protected area until they dry.
Where space constraints or large numbers of umbrellas prevent such an approach, umbrellas may be put in an umbrella stand, pointed down to drain and dry.
Generally, some umbrellas come with a sleeve of a water repellent material similar to that used in the umbrella itself Such sleeves are intended to protect the umbrella from abrasion and dirt and are easily ruined or misplaced after it first few uses.
Various attempts have been made to design a holder to carry a wet umbrella on the shoulder of the user to eliminate coming in contact with the wet umbrella. For example Hilburger U.S. Pat. No. 1,827,524 and Conrad U.S. Pat. No. 2,926,826, however, while these designs address the obvious stated disadvantages they do not provide the ability to change the exterior for style or dress change, a pocket for personal items, removable inner sleeve, and a distinct style for the umbrella holder.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of these considerations, there is a definite need for a totally new concept in fashion and design in umbrella holders.
This invention provides a Cone Shaped Brella Slipper, a distinct design to provide a convenient method of allowing the user to contain the wet closed umbrella while not in use. Previous inventors have failed to consider the lack of style there by limiting the choices for the consumer.
The Brella Slipper in its array of colors and fabric styles opens a wide variety to both male and female.
More specifically the Brella Slipper is comprised of an Interior Shell, to receive the closed wet umbrella. The Interior Shell is removable to allow for replacement of incurred damage, and to allow replacement of another Exterior Shell design.
Then the Exterior Shell encompasses the Interior Shell that makes the fashion statement. In addition adornments are attached to the Exterior Shell to further the fashion statement.
Next a Protective Collar, sized to conform over the top end or bottom end as a protective addition.
A Strap is added to suspend the Brella Slipper from the user's shoulder which allows for adjustment for the height of the user.
An optional convenient Inside Pouch Pocket or Slit Pocket that allows for excess from the outside may be added with a snap closer or Velcro closer for added security.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Referring to FIG. 1, is a perspective view of the Brella Slipper that includes the Interior Hard Shell 16 having an upper open end 17 and a lower open end 18 to form a volume 19 for receiving a folded umbrella 15 within its confines. The Interior Hard Shell 16 is constructed of a material of polymers, characterized by its ability to protect the Exterior Shell 12 fabric dressing from water damage therefore to prolonging the shape and appearance.
Referring to FIG. 1 a, is a perspective cut away view showing the Exterior Shell coaxially surrounding the Interior Hard Shell 16. Exterior Shell 12 constructed of a variety of stylish fabric material such as delineated above in the summary of the invention. The Exterior Shell 12 has a corresponding upper open end 11 adjacent to the upper open end 17 of the Interior Hard Shell and lower open end 13 of the Exterior Shell adjacent to the lower open end 18, of the Interior Hard Shell 16. The Exterior Shell 12 is constructed of material of a strong, coarse, twilled, cotton fabric or a material of polymer, sized to fit over the Interior Hard Shell 16.
Referring to FIG. 1 b, is a perspective view of the single strap 14 that is attached diametrically on either side of the upper end 11 of the Exterior Shell 12 so as to suspend the Brella Slipper generally vertical with the upper open ends 11 and 17 of the Exterior Shell 12 and the Interior Hard Shell 16.
Referring to FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the out of view Pouch Pocket 20 that allows the user an added convenience of storing personal items. It is attached near the upper end 11 on the inside of the Exterior Shell 12, with an opening for access on the Interior Soft Shell 34.
Referring to FIG. 2 a is a perspective view of the Slit Pocket 21 that shows the Slit Pocket 21 is sewn onto the inside of the Exterior Shell 12, lays between the exterior of the Interior Hard Shell 16 and interior of the Exterior Shell 12 with access from the outside of the Exterior Shell 12.
Referring to FIG. 3, is a perspective view of the adjustable strap 22 of the Brella Slipper that shows one end permanently attached on one side of the upper end of Exterior Shell 12 so as to suspend the Brella Slipper generally vertical with the upper open ends 11 and 17 of the Exterior Shell 12 and Interior Shell 16. The other strap end attaches along the length of the Exterior Shell 12 at predetermined lengths 23, 24 and 25 inches, with snaps or Velcro.
Referring to FIG. 3 a, is a perspective view of the Brella Slipper showing the strap 26 that is permanently attached with a off the shelf, belt buckle style 27 or a off the shelf slide buckle, for convenient adjustment for the variation in statue of the user.
Referring to FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the Brella Slipper showing the Brella Slipper 12 with the Protective Collar 28, (indicated by the dotted lines on the drawing), that clamps over the upper open end 11 and 17, as well the lower open end 13 and 18, (a small version sized to fit the lower open end like that of the upper end.) The Protective Collar 28 is constructed of leather, metal or hard polymer, formed to fit over the rim of the top end 11 and 17, and bottom end 13 and 18, secured with glue.
Referring to FIG. 4 a is a perspective view of the Protective Collar 28 showing the top view of the Protective Collar 28, with a variation for securing the Protective Collar 28 by inserting the rim of the upper open end 11 and 17 and bottom end 13 and 18, by using a pressed fit into the Protective Collar 28, between the inner and outer walls of the Protective Collar 28, there by creating a secured fit of the two components.
Referring to FIG. 4 a is a perspective view of the collar showing the top view of the Protective Collar 28 which suspends the adjustable strap 26 from FIG. 4 by means of hoops 30 attached by means of holes 31, (indicated by dotted lines on the drawing), in the Protective Collar 28. The holes 31 are drilled diametrically on either side of the Protective Collar 28, which allows for mounting the hoop that allows the strap to be attached by means of a off the shelf loop swivel to allow the strap to spin freely preventing tangling or twisting.
Referring to FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the Brella Slipper showing the Brella Slipper with the removable Interior Soft Shell 33 and Exterior Shell 12. Indicates the application for removing the Interior Soft Shell 33, by unsnapping or separating the Velicore for easy removal. The snaps 32 or Velcro 32 are installed in the sub interior diametrically opposite one another along the circumference of the upper open end 34 of the Interior Soft Shell.
Referring to FIG. 5 is a perspective view that indicates the location of the fold up snap 36, version of the Interior Soft Shell 33, located approximately 1.5 to 2.5 inches from the bottom end of the Interior Soft Shell. This allows for folding up to snap the bottom to keep the wet umbrella from discharging the water onto the user.
Referring to FIG. 5 a is a perspective, close up view of FIG. 5 showing the folded up Interior Soft Shell.
Referring to FIG. 6 is a perspective view of the Exterior Shell 12, indicating the single seam design of the Exterior Shell that fits around the Interior Soft or Hard Shell. The material is cut in the shape as indicated with the top dimension varying from 9 to 19 inches, the bottom at 2.5 inches and the length at 12-32 inches.
Referring to FIG. 6 a is a perspective view of the Exterior Shell 12, showing the back side view of the single seam.
Referring to FIG. 7 is a perspective view of the Exterior Shell 12, indicating the double seam version design of the Exterior Shell that fits around the Interior Soft Shell. Section 12-a, of the Exterior Shell is sewn to section 12-b, of the Exterior Shell, to form exterior Cone Shape Brella Slipper.
Having considered the detailed description of the preferred embodiment is apparent that the objects set forth at the outset have been achieved. It is to be understood that the description of the preferred embodiment is illustrative and is not to be taken as limiting the scope of the invention being limited only by the following claims.

Claims

1. A carrying vessel for umbrellas, the Cone Shape Brella Slipper, is comprised of the following five elements:

First being the Interior Soft or Hard Shell, sized to conform to the shape and form of the folded umbrella, coaxially positioned about the Exterior Shell, constructed of a water proof material, either soft or hard polymers, which are by-products of oil refining or coal distillation, having an upper open end dimension of a 8-14 inch circumference, permitting the insertion and storage of the wet umbrella, extending 12 to 32 inches in length, then opens at the bottom to a 2 inch round opening, or has a folded end with a snap or Velcro to secure the fold, to contain moisture from a wet umbrella.

3. Second being the Exterior Shell, sized to substantially conform the dimensions of the Interior Soft or Hard Shell, constructed of a variety of fabric material, such as denim, cotton, leather, suede, silk, rayon, polyester, velvet, lace, velour, or man made fur.

4. Third being a strap, to suspend the Cone Shaped Brella Slipper from the user's shoulder, constructed of leather, or matching fabric, attached inside, outside or between the Exterior Shell and Interior Soft or Hard Shell, along the circumference of the upper end, with three variations, first being the fixed strap permanently attached, second being, fixed strap permanently attached with a buckle or Velcro on the strap for adjustment, third being, one end permanently fixed and the other attached along the length of the Brella Slipper, which allows for adjustment for the height of the user.

5. Fourth being the Protective Collar, sized to conform over the top end and bottom end as a protective addition, constructed of a soft or hard polymer, leather, or metal with holes to accommodate the attachment to the Brella Slipper and Strap.

6. Fifth, is the out of view Inside Pouch Pocket, with snap or Velcro for closure attached near the upper end, of the Interior Soft or Hard Shell, or the Slit Pocket, sewn to the inside of the Exterior Shell, with a snap or Velcro closure for security.

7. The Interior Soft or Hard Shell as claimed in claim 1, further comprising means for removal, to allow for replacement of incurred damage, or to launder or dry clean the Exterior Shell, which is attached by Velcro or snap, at the upper end.

The bottom end is folded and secured with a snap or Velcro to contain rain water from the wet umbrella.
