Abstract

This food storage container would have an extra half-circular piece of plastic (tabs) formed into the very outside rim of the lid and one formed on the very outside rim of the container. These tabs would have holes in them in which a plastic cord would slide through the tab on the lid and the tab on the container. The plastic cord would be formed so each end of the cord would be approximately twice the diameter of the holes in the tabs creating objects (i.e. stoppers) that would cause the lid and the container to be attached by means of the plastic cord. The plastic cord would be just long enough to allow the lid to be placed under the container.

Description

  • This invention was thought of after having personally spent lots of time looking for a particular lid for a particular food storage container.
  • This invention is meant to provide people with a container to store leftover food in with the convenience of not having to worry about where the lid for the particular container may be, as it is attached.
  • In drawing 1, the drawing shows the lid as it would be removed from the container or put on the container. Drawing 2 shows the lid being spun to allow food to be put in or taken out. Also this is the position that would be used for washing and storing.
  • This storage container would be made of plastic suitable for storing food. It would have an extra half round piece of plastic (tabs) formed into the lid and one formed into the container. These tabs would have holes in them in which a plastic cord would run through the one on the lid, and run through the one on the container. This cord would be just slightly smaller in diameter than that of the holes in the tabs on the lid and the container. The cord would be approximately 3 inches long with molded stopper balls on the each end that are approximately two times the diameter of the holes in the tabs on the lid, and container, so the lid and the container could not slide off the cord.
  • What I claim as my invention is the plastic tabs formed into a container and a lid, which have holes in the center of these tabs that has a plastic cord running through these holes, and is kept from falling through by plastic ball stoppers on each end.

Claims (1)

1. What I claim as my invention is a plastic string that goes through a hole in a tab on the lid of a container, then through a hole in a tab on the container, in any way shape or form that causes the lid to be permanently attached to the container.
