LORENZO TALBOTT, OF MEDIAPOLIS, IOWA.
IMPROVEMENT IN CLOTHES-DRIERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 182.042., dated September 12, 1876 application filed February 1, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LORENZO TALBOTT, of Mediapolis, county of Des Moines and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Clothes-Line Stretcher, Conductor, and Housing, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of my invention relates to improvements in devices for stretching lines for hanging out clothes, or for other purposes; and the invention consists in certain new and improved devices operating in combination as hereinafter more fully set forth.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is a side elevation of devices embodying my invention, and Fig. 2 is a sectional view of Fig. l on the line as w.
Referring to the parts by letters, letters 'A A represent two posts, set in the ground or otherwise fixed in position. The post A has attached to its upper end a pulley-frame, B, with an open bearing for the journals of a pulley, C, so that by raising it the pulley may be removed whenever desired. The post A has constructed upon its upper end an opensided box, D, in which and across which extends a pulley-frame, E, which can be adjusted toward and from the pulley O by means of a screw-threaded crank-rod, F, which passes through its outer end and impinges against the post A, the frame E being meanwhileheld in position by bolts 0, which pass through a slot, 6, therein, and on which it slides. G is a pulley, carried in the outer end of the frame E, and has a crank, g, on one end of its axial bolt, by which it may be rotated.
