One of the essential objects'ot the inven- V tionis to provide an assembly of this type in. which a plurality of striker 'plates'are held in assembled position by a common securing means vz Another object is to provide a strong and durable structure that is simple in construction and can be manufactured at a comparatively low cost.

invention resides in certain novel features of construction, combinations and arrangements of parts as will be more fully described and particularly pointed out in the appended claims. a V 1 f In the accompanying drawing:

Referring now to the jamb o1": a' vehicle body doortype. As shown, this jambis box like in form andcomprises the upright channel member 2 and'the cooperatingmetal strip 3. Preferably, this strip is wider than the base 4: of the channel member 2 and is embraced byreturn-bent portions at" of laterally extending flanges 5 at the jinner edges of the channel member. Thus these flanges 5 v con- 'stitute abutments for the doors 6 and '4 irespectively when in closed position.

9. A striker plate assembly comprising a jamb, striker plates upon two sides of said jamb and means for securing said strikerplates to said sides of said jamb, including adjustable element extending transversely of said jamb and said striker plates.
