'l To all whom it may concern:

" zen of the United States, and resident of New York, in the county of New York-and State of' New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in `Waterproof Containers, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in water-proof containers, particularly receptacles designed to be carried by bathers, swimmers and others for keeping about the person articles which have to be kept dry, as small change, watch. and chain, jewelry, matehes,ci'garettes or the like.

It is the principal object of thc invention to prov-idea practical receptacle ot simple, inexpensive construction which can readily be attached to the wrist or to a belt worn by a bather and which possesses ,water excluding features .and is equipped with means for conveniently .absorbing the moisture generated within the tightly closed receptacle so as to keep the articles contained therein positively dry, while allowing ready access to its interior.

Another object of the invention is the provision of a container of this type permitting a water-tight closureof the same without obstruction to a ready placing and removal of the articles stored therein during its use.

A further object of the invention is the provision of a waterproof container allowing a convenient inspection of a watch carried therein and the attachment of the key to a bathing booth or cabin etc.

A still further object of my invention is the provision of means allowing a ready attachment and secure fastening of the receptacle to a belt buckle which at the same time is adapted to allow the attachment of a strap for strapping the receptacle to a persons wrist.

These and other objects and advantages of my invention will become more fully apparentas the description thereof proceeds, and will then be specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

As shown in Figure l, the water-proof receptacle or container l0 of any suitable material impermeable to water, preferably metal, is curved as indicated at 11 to lit the curvature of the wrist of a person. The casing 1Y0 can either be attached to the Wrist of a bather by means of a narrow' strap 12 passed through a pair yof comparatively small guide loops 13 secured to the rear wall of the container in any desired manner, or to a belt worn by the swimmer by means of a'co-mparatively wider strap passed through a pair of wider or larger guide straps or loops 14, and both straps are equipped with appropriate bufkles, indicated at 15, Figure 1, or similar suitable fastening means allowing a strapping of Vthe receptacle to thewrist or belt of a person.

At one endA the container is closed watertight bymeans of a cap .16 adapted to be tightly screwed upon the body of the container 10 by means of a screw having an upper knob or handle 17 and an interposed Washer 18, said cap also lined on the inside with a waterproof and Aresilient material as for instance rubber or the like. The exact manner of fastening the cap to the container and retaining it 1n position thereon will be hereafter more fully described.

As illustrated 'in Figure 2, the front wall Vor the container l() has an -opening and is equipped with a suitable rim surrounding said opening within the container, designated, 19, for holding a watch, the dial and hands of which can be readily inspected through a cover of celluloid or other transparent material 20 held watertight against the rim and container by any suitable well known means.

l.
