To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, PHILIPP GOLDMANN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, county of New York, and Stat-e of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Revolving Tables, of which the following is a speciiication.
This invention relates to a table which is equipped with a. revolving portion whereby the table or top can be positioned, so that it will be unnecessary to move the dishes to bring them into proper reach of a person sitting at the table.
The invention can be fitted to any ordinary table without regard to the dimensions or shape.
The object of the invention is to provide a table which can be rotated so that when a person changes his seat the dishes need not be moved but the table can be revolved to follow the person.
The novel features of the invention are more fully described in the following speci` fication and claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure l is a vertical section of a table embodying this invention. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section taken along the line w w of the same.
In this drawing is shown a table having legs a. and a top b of ordinary construction. This table is mounted on a revolving device consisting of a base member c whichas indicated in Fig. l, is supported on the floor. The base member has radial arms provided with springs Z secured to the arms. There are four of these arms shown and each arm carries a spring for mounting a pin or roller e. A pivot f is secured to the central portion of the base member. This pivot serves as the axis for a revolving table support g, and the pivot is secured to the'support preferably by means of a nut z.. This pivotal connection prevents horizontal shift and vertical displacement of the support g relative to the base member. This support carries at its under side a circular track z' in contact with the said rollers e. The support g carries a number of brackets or lugs j each lug having a slot if: for engagement with a. thumb screw my threaded in the support. As indicated in Fig. 2 the brackets are shown in full lines with the clamp set to. clasp the legs of a circular table, but the brackets can be swung about the thumby screws, m as indicated in dotted lines to clamp a rectangular or square table. brackets can also be moved radially when it is desired to clamp a table of different dimensions.
It will be seen that when the table is rotated it revolves the support g about the rollers. The springs (Z thus take up any uneven motion of the support g and keep the rollers in positive rolling contact with the track.
I claim:
l. In a revolving table the combination with a. stationary base member, rollers yieldingly mounted on the base, a revolving support pivotally connected to the base, a circular track fixed to the support to coact with the rollers, brackets swingingly and slidably mounted on the support, and slidable adjustable clamps carried by the brackets for securing an object to the support.
