Abstract

Sikker transmisjon av en melding er oppnådd ved bruk av en engangs krypte- ringsnøkkel utledet ved mottakeren og senderen fra informasjon som finnes både ved senderen og mottakeren, men hvor in- formasjonen fra hvilken krypteringsnøk- kelen er utledes ikke blir sendt mellom senderen og mottakeren. Et antall bit- grupper, kjent som en mastersignatur, blir tilfeldig generert og lagret ved senderen, hvor hver bitgruppe er unikt identifisert ved en adresse. Et første tilfeldig subsett av dette antall bit- grupper, kalt en aksess-signatur, og adressene i mastersignaturen for bit- gruppene i denne aksess-signatur, blir lagret ved mottakeren. For å generere en krypteringsnøkkel, velger mottakeren et annet tilfeldig subsett av bitgrupper, kjent som en sesjonssignatur, fra aksess-signaturen, og sender adressene i mastersignaturen for bitgruppene i denne sesjonssignatur til senderen. Senderen bruker disse adresser til å identifisere bitgruppene i denne sesjonssignatur, hvilke bitgrupper blir brukt ved både senderen og mottakeren til å utlede krypteringsnøkkelen.
