Abstract

Se proporcionan mecanismos y tecnicas para clonacion y manejo de fragmento de base de datos. Un objeto de base de datos, tal como una tabla, natural o indice, se divide en fragmentos. Cada fragmento se clona para crear fragmentos clonados, que operacionalmente son substancialmente identicos uno con otro. Uno o mas de los fragmentos clonados pueden designarse como un fragmento clonado primario para realizar operaciones de datos o como un fragmento clonado secundario para servir como respaldo. Las actualizaciones para cada fragmento se implementan en el fragmento clonado primario y despues se propagan desde el fragmento clonado primario hacia los fragmentos clonados secundarios correspondientes.
