Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a signal whose moire is little and whose resolution is high to be sampled by adding the luminance signal of only a high band part among the high band luminance signals having the resolution every one picture element to three primary colors and outputting it. CONSTITUTION:A G signal, an R signal, a B signal and the high band luminance signal YH are sampled from one image pickup device 12 with the aid of usind a G stripe R/B line sequential system and from these signals, an R-G signal and a B-G signal having the resolution every other picture element are made by a processing circuit 22. The signal of three primary colors is obtained by adding the G signal to the R-G signal and the B-G signal by an RGB separation circuit 24 and the luminance signal of only the high band part among the high band luminance signals YH having the resolution every one picture element is added to the three primary colors and outputted. The color expression of the high band part is unnecessary. Thus the image without the moire and with the high resolution can be obtained.
