Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a higher operation efficiency of diagnosis eliminating measurement of unnecessary quantitative data, by performing a precision analysis using a quantitative data specified by a handy diagnosis after the handy diagnosis is made by a qualitative data. CONSTITUTION:Qualitative data or quantitative data indicating abnormality of mechanical equipment and cause-effect relationships between the quantitative data or quantitative data and respective cause items are stored into a qualitative cause-effect relationship memory 15 and a quantitative cause-effect relationship memory 16 beforehand. In response to the qualitative data from the mechanical equipment 11, a handy diagnosis section 13 calculates incident probability of each cause item using a corresponding cause-effect relationship in the qualitative cause-effect relationship memory 15 to perform a handy diagnosis. A quantitative data selecting/specifying section 18 selects and specifies the quantitative data pertaining to the cause item with a high incident probability calculated by the handy diagnosis. In response to the quantitative data being selected, a precision diagnosis section 19 calculates incident probability of each cause item using a corresponding cause-effect relationship in the quantitative cause- effect relationship memory to perform a precision diagnosis.
