Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the low-frequency specitrum characteristics, by selecting an information block converting a separaton block which minimizes DC unbalance, in converting a binary data bit series into a binary channel bit series.
CONSTITUTION: A binry data bit train A is separated into a data block BDi consisting of consecutive m bit. Before transmission and recording of the data bit, channel coding is executed for the data bit, and the data block BDi including m bits is converted into a binary channel bit train B of a channel block BCi coded to an information block BIi including n1 sets of information bits. Since the least DC unbalance is selected from this information block BIi, the residual DC unbalance can be made uniform.
