Abstract
PURPOSE: To automatically erase two printed letters typewritten on top each other at the same printing position and a printed letter typewritten at a half printing position, by automatically erasing in accordance with letter codes from two memory sections of memory positions corresponding to respective printing positions.
CONSTITUTION: One memory position of a memory 5 has memory positions respectively corresponding to a normal printing position and a half printing position, wherein memory positions has a first memory section for memorising a letter code CC corresponding to the first printing letter, a second memory section for memorising a letter code CC corresponding to the second printing letter, and a flag for memorising the presence or absence of the underline. In response to an erasing command signal ES, the letter code CC corresponding to the printing letter is read from the memory sections in the memory positions corresponding to the normal printing position or the half printing position, and according thereto a printing signal PS is outputted to a printing mechanism 4.
