Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a variable magnification of picture of fine quality with an economical device configuration by determining the density of an optional marking picture element of the picture to be changed its magnification in accordance with a black or white picture element corresponding to the marking picture element in a reference picture element group. CONSTITUTION:Picture density data including a reference picture element group for a marking picture element which are stored in a line are successively transferred from a line buffer to a matrix register. The density data of nXn bits stored in the matrix register are inputted to a converting circuit. the converting circuit outputs data corresponding to 1 bit (black picture element) included in the input density data of nXn bits and the outputted data are compared with a binary threshold by a comparator and converted into a binary data. An output gate circuit gates the output data of the comparator and selects only an available data to output it to the external.
