CONSTITUTION:Picture density data including a reference picture element group for a marking picture element which are stored in a line are successively transferred from a line buffer to a matrix register. The density data of nXn bits stored in the matrix register are inputted to a converting circuit. the converting circuit outputs data corresponding to 1 bit (black picture element) included in the input density data of nXn bits and the outputted data are compared with a binary threshold by a comparator and converted into a binary data. An output gate circuit gates the output data of the comparator and selects only an available data to output it to the external.
