Abstract

PURPOSE:To display a picture for all members of participants of a conference, for a video telephone subscriber providing one set of a television camera and one set of receiver only, by reducing the picture of all the participants of the conference, synthesizing the picture on one screen and transmitting the result to each subscriber. CONSTITUTION:Picture signals A,B and C from subscribers 2,3 and 4 are applied to picture reducing circuits 7a,7b and 7c in a picture synthesis track 6 via a video telephone exchanger 1. Horizontal and vertical direction of the picture is reduced into 1/2 and synthesized into one picture 9 at a picture synthesis circuit 8 and transmitted to the subscribers 2,3 and 4. Further, the picture of subscribers making utterance can be magnified than the picture of other subscribers and the picture of all the participants is synthesized. Such a method can also be possible by using an audio channel.
