PURPOSE:To correct a relative delay of a chroma signal, and to elevate the S/N ratio of a signal, by providing a chroma signal comb line filter for suppressing a luminance signal, on a recording and reproducing signal processing circuit, and providing a 1H delaying circuit for 1H-delaying the luminance signal on said signal processing circuit. CONSTITUTION:A luminance signal of a video signal from an input terminal 14 is outputted to the output side of an LPF15, is 1H-delayed by a 1H delaying circuit 17, is FM-modulated by an FM moldulator 16, and is applied to a recording amplifier 20. Also, a video signal is applied to a chroma comb line filter 18, a chroma signal is 0.5H-delayed relatively against the luminance signal by the filter 18, is converted to a low band chroma signal by a down-converter 19, and after that, is applied to the amplifier 20, the low band chroma signal from the amplifier 20 is 0.5H-advanced relatively against the luminance FM signal, is outputted, and is applied to a recording head 21. In this way, a relative delay of the chroma signal is corrected, and the S/N ratio of the chroma signal is elevated.
