Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the rattling due to the torque variation by providing a fluid coupling and a friction clutch in parallel between the output axis of an engine and the load and controlling such that the transmission torque capacity of the friction clutch will be zero when the average output of the engine is approximately zero. CONSTITUTION:A torque transmission device 6 coupled to the crank shaft 4 of an internal combustion engine 2 is comprised of a friction clutch 8 and a torque converter 10 where the friction clutch 8 is controlled by the oil pressure to be fed/discharged from an oil controller to the oil chambers 32, 34. Said oil controller has a solenoid valve 44 for controlling the oil pressure which controls the function of the oil pump 38, reducing valve 40, friction clutch control valve 42, and the solenoid valve 44 is controlled by an electronic controller 46. The electronic controller 46 is provided with the output from the detectors 134-144 for the suction negative pressure, rotary speed, oil temperature, speed change position and the vibration and the solenoid valve 44 is controlled such that the transmission torque capacity of the friction clutch 8 will be zero when the average output of the engine 2 is approximately zero.
