PURPOSE:To easily identify a jewel, by storing the extent of measurement of a quantity system and an optical system regarding a jewel to be lent, as a data, and deciding whether this stored data coincides with the extent of measurement of the jewel which has been returned or not. CONSTITUTION:As for a jewel to be lent, various data are measured by a mean specific gravity measuring part S1, a signal generating part S2 by recognizing an optical pattern, other measuring part S3, etc., its values are converted to progression being suitale for an input of a microcomputer by converting parts CC1-CC3, and are inputted to an input/output part I/O of the microcomputer. These data are processed by a CPU through a bus line and are stored in a storage part ME. On the other hand, the jewel which has been lent and returned is measured by the same method, its data are compared with the stored data, and its result is displayed on an identifying device IND and an indicator CRT.
