CONSTITUTION:For example, before a jewel is lent out, its optical characteristics, such as refractivity, reflectivity, absorptivity, etc., are measured by measurement parts S1-S3, and their data signals are sent via an I/O to a CPU to be stored in a storage part ME. When returned, the jewel is measured similarly and the resulting data are compared with the stored values to display the identification result on a display device IND. Thus, the identification is performed easily in a short time.
