Abstract

PURPOSE: A heat-resistant grease having improved lubricating effect at high temperature under high load for a long time without causing problems of environmental pollution, corrosion, etc., obtained by blending a base oil with fine powder of a specific polyimide compound as a viscosity builder.
CONSTITUTION: A base oil is blended with preferably 10W30wt% ultrafine powder having preferable particle diameter of ≤5μ of an imide compound[a preferable example; compound shown by the formulaI and/or formula II (R1 is monofunctional aliphatic or aromatic group; R2 is tetrafunctional aliphatic or aromatic group; R3 is bifunctional aliphatic or aromatic group; R4 is bifunctional group having two neighboring carbon atoms linked to carbonyl groups respectively; n is 1W3) with 4W8 imide bonds, as a viscosity builder, to give the desired grease.
