Abstract

PURPOSE:To rotate a rotor at 90 deg. of an electric angle by arranging stator magnetic poles of the number twice that of the rotor around the rotor made of permanent magnet and alternatively switching the direction of one respective currents of exciting coils arranged at every other position. CONSTITUTION:The rotor 1 includes permanent magnets magnetized alternatively in different magnetic polarities and arranged on the circumference, and stator magnetic poles 2, 3 of the number twice that of the rotor are arranged around the rotor 1. The poles 2 arranged at every other positions are excited by the first stator coil 4, and the poles 3 are excited by the second stator coil 5. The direction of a current flowing in one stator coil is switched by a change-over switch or the like, thereby rotating the rotor 1 at 90 deg. of an electric angle. Four poles are provided at the rotor, the rotor 1 is rotated at 45 deg. of an electric angle, is thus polarized in multiplicity. Thus, the output torque of the rotor can be raised. In this manner, a stopper can be eliminated whe rotating 90 deg. at the rotor, and the output efficiency can be improved.
