Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate a torque dead point in a brushless motor by shifting the peak point of a field magnetic flux from the center of a pole and driving it in a two-phase half wave. CONSTITUTION:An uneven portion is formed on the circumferential direction on rotor poles 31-34 made of soft magnetic material. The raised portion confronts the pole portions 51-54 of a stator through short air gap, and the recessed portion confronts them through long air gap. Permanent magnets 41-44 are magnetized with polarities as indicated with angular shape. Exciting coils 61-64 are wound on the pole portions 51-54 of the yoke 50 of the stator. The coils 61-64 are alternately energized in response to the position of the rotor detected by a Hall element 81. Since the peak point of the magnetic flux density is thus shifted from the center of the pole to the boundary of any pole, the torque dead point can be eliminated in any point of the rotor.
