PURPOSE:To easily measure the desiccation degree through a simple structure by a method wherein a thin sheet of crude fibrous paper is sleaed with a synthetic resin layer havine openings on one side. CONSTITUTION:A thin sheet of crude fibrous white paper 3 is sealed between a transparent vinyl layer 1 having moisture absorption opening 4 and moisture vaporization opening 5 on it, and dark colored vinyl layer 2 having no opening, to provide a moisture desiccation degree indicator of a spindle shaped flat plate. And the moisture absorption opening 4 side of the moisture desiccation degree indicator is inserted into soil, and the moisture absorbed from moisture absorption opening 4 is made to rise and diffuse through the capillarity action of thin crude fibrous white paper 3 and moisture 3 and moisture is vaporized to disappear from moisture vaporization opening 5. Therewith, the balance state between the moisture rising and diffusing and the moisture vaporized to disappear is easily discriminated from the conditin of boundary line between the whilte layer and the dark colored layer, thus the degree of moisture or desiccation of the soil is exactly measured at a glance.
