PURPOSE:To obtain a luminance signal excellent in frequency and in phase characteristics by mixing the high frequency component of a monochromatic signal with no S/N deterioration and the low frequency component of another monochromatic signal having deteriorated in S/N in the high frequency range and further by mixing the obtained composite signal and the monochromatic signal with no deterioration in the high frequency range. CONSTITUTION:LPF and HPF consisting of a resistance and capacitor serve as a coupled circuit that outputs a composite signal by combining the high frequency component of a monochromatic signal deteriorating in SN ratio in the high frequency band among three primary color signals with the low frequency component of another monochromatic signal having deteriorated in SN ratio in the high frequency band. For this purpose, the R signal and B signal inferior in SN ratio of the high frequency component are passed through amplifiers 10 and 12 and LPF to extract low frequency components and the G signal is supplied to terminal 22 via amplifier 11 and also through HPF to obtain the high frequency component, so that both high frequency components of the R signal and B signal will be interchanged with that of the B signal. Then, the high frequency component of the G signal with the same attenuation with the R and B signals is added and resistances 24-26 of the mixing circuit are given an adequate ratio to synthesize a signal.
