PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain the continuation of a horizontal synchronizing signal even in special reproduction by holding the extent of a line shift from an adjacent track on the recording locus of the adjacent track in specific relation. CONSTITUTION:A signal applied to input terminal 1 is separated into a luminance signal and chrominance signal by LPF2 and BPF3. Then, the luminance signal is FM-modulated 4 and led to adder 6 and the chrominance signal is converted by frequency converter 5 into a signal of a low frequency, which is recorded by being added 6 to the modulation output. Then, a signal reproduced by head 7 is separated into the FM wave of the luminance signal and the low frequency converted chrominance signal by HPF8 and LPF9 and they are frequency demodulated 10 and frequency converted into the original chrominance signal, which is reproduced by being added 12.
