Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to identify and detect many kinds of gas at a time by providing light sources, emitting infrared light differing in wavelength, a photodetector, detecting it, and a reflex mirror, reflecting the sent light, and then by connecting them to one another transmitting and receiving optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:To make it possible to identify and detect many kinds of gas, this detector is equipped with light sources 1-1, 1-2...1-n that emit light beams of wavelengths lambda1, lambda2...lambdan equivalent to those of infrared absorption of gases, transmitting optical fiber bundle 2 transmitting beams from them, reflex mirror 3 reflecting light from transmitting optical fiber 4, photo detection fiber 4 photo-detecting light from reflex mirror 3, photodetector 5 detecting the wavelength and light adsorptivity of the detected light and converting them into electric signals, and gas detection space 6 limited between transmitting and receiving optical fibers 2 and 4, and reflex mirror 3.
