Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate a noise signal by compensating a dropout without spoiling the continuity of an voice signal, by extracting only the low frequency component of a reproduced FM signal when the reproduced signal has the dropout in it. CONSTITUTION:A reproduced signal from reproducing head 11 is supplied to demodulating circuit 13 consisting of band-pass filter 14, amplifier 15, FM detector 16, and low-pass filter 17 by way of amplifier 12, and an obtained demodulated signal is frequency-divided by low-pass filter 18 and high-pass filter 19 and then mixed by mixing circuit 20 to generate a sound from a speaker, etc., connected to output terminal 22 by way of amplifier 21. The output of said amplifier 12, on the other hand, is applied to dropout detector 23, whose signal is supplied to monostable multivibrator 24 which generates pulses of the width required for dropout compensation; and those pulses are applied to switch circuit 25, whose switch output disables the transmission of high-pass filter 19 only in the occurrence of a dropout.
