Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a heat resistant steel having superior heat resistance and ordinary temp. toughness by simultaneously adding a apecified vary small amount of N and B to an alloy steel contg. a specified amount of Cr and other alloying elements.
CONSTITUTION: This heat resistant alloy steel contains 0.1W0.25% C, ≤1.0% Si, ≤1.5% Mn, 10.0W12.5% Cr, 1.1W2.5% Ni, ≤1.0% W, 0.8W1.5% Mo, 0.05W 0.35% Nb, 0.01W0.05% B and 0.01W0.04% N. The addition of Cr raises the heat resistance, corrosion resistance and tempering temp. of steel, the addition of Ni enhances the strength and toughness, and by simultaneously adding N and B, boron nitride is formed to enhance the high temp. strength. This steel is used as a material for moving vanes, discs, rotors, casing volts, etc. of a steam turbine or a gas turbine used at high temp.
