Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain an surface elastic wave element with temperature variation in acoustic velocity reduced while the acoustic velocity of a surface wave on its substrate is increased by providing a high-sonic coating on the glass substrate, by stacking a piezoelectric coating on the coating and then by providing a comb line electrode on it. CONSTITUTION:Substrate 10 is of multi-layer constitution; high-sonic coating 12 is provided on glass substrate 11 and piezoelectric coating 13 is stacked on coating 12. On coating 13, comb line electrode 14 is further provided so as to increase the acoustic velocity of a surface wave on the substrate, so that a surface elastic wave element with temperature variation in acoustic velocity reduced can be obtained.
