Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the working process by using frit glass with a melting point of higher than the decomposition temperature of the binder to form a gap between the cone and face plate until completion of decomposition of the binder.
CONSTITUTION: The frit glass 12 is coated on the periphery of a cone 11 to form several projections 12a, and on which a face plate 10 having a phosphor film 13, lacquer film 14, and metal back layer 15 is placed to form a gap 16 between the cone 11 and face plate 10, where a frit glass with a melting point of higher than that of the lacquer film 14 is used for the frit glass 12. The assembled is heated to the decomposition temperature of the lacquer film 14, and after burning heated to the melting point of the frit glass 12 to seal. Thus the lacquer film 14 is decomposed completely becasue of free ventilation of air, and the burning and sealing can be completed with only one heating process.
