Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to reproduce original sound without damaging it by mixing sound recording signals into pilot signal and compressing them and expanding width of them and amplifying them to record sound and detecting the level of pilot signals and expanding width of them and compressing them to reproduce sound.
CONSTITUTION: Input signals and pilot signals P are applied to mixing circuit 1. Input signal waveform a is modulated into waveform b. These modulation signals have the sound recording level to a tape compressed and expanded to an optimum level by automatic gain adjustment equipment 4 and are amplified by 5 and are arranged into the same level as shown in signal waveform c. These modulation input signals are recorded on the tape through recording circuit 6 by recording head 7. Next, the reproducing input from reproducing head 10 is inputted to automatic gain adjustment equipment 12 through reproducing equalizer 11. In adjustment equipment 12, only pilot signals P are detected from amplified 13 and are expanded and compressed in operations opposite to recording, thereby demodulating them to the original source. Then, the reproducing output is inputted to an output amplifier, which is not shown in the figure, and is reproduced. As a result, original sound can be reproduced without damaging it.
