Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the plane anisotropy of thin steel plates by increasing the initial (Nos. 1, 2, 3 stands) drafts of tandem rolling.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of producing thin steel plates by rolling at total drafts 85% to 97% with tandem cold rolling mills, the rolling is performed by making the draft of the No. 1 stand of the tandem mills at 35% or higher or the mean draft of the respective stands at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 stands at 43% or higher. The draft of the No. 1 stand and the forming property and plane anisotropy of r value of the thin steel plate have a good correlation. At above 30%, the elongation of the steel plate sharply improves and the plane anisotropy of r value decreases. The mean draft of the drafts of the No. 1 up to No. 3 stands has also a good correlation with the forming property and the plane anisotropy of r value of the thin steel plate. At above 40% of the mean draft, these sharply improve.
