Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily and surely detect the failure of load cell, by comparing the output of the load cells of a plurality installed in series for discrimination.
CONSTITUTION: The weight of measured object 200 is measured with the load cells 100 and 110 installed in series. The scale signal by the cell 100 or 110 is fed to the display unit 104 via the selection circuit 102 to display the weight. Simultaneously, the scale signal of the cells 100 and 110 is compared at the comparator 103, and if the difference is in excess of a given range, alarm is produced from the alarm unit 105 via the comparator 103, allowing to easily and surely detect the failure in the load cells automatically without using standard weights.
