Abstract

PURPOSE: To generate arbitrarily sampling pulses for VIR signals from composite video signals by using a pulse generator which oscillates on a frequency five times as high as a horizontal period.
CONSTITUTION: Vertical synchronizing signals are inputted to input terminal 1, and oscillator 5 generates a pulse train through integrator circuit 2 and latch 3. This pulse k is counted by counter 6 within a horizontal period just before the horizontal period where VIR signals are inserted, and pulse e is outputted when the number of pulses k reaches a prescribed value. Though oscillation is stopped by pulse e, oscillator 5 generates a pulse train through latch 4 by the coming of a horizontal synchronizing signal at a start time of the horizontal period where VIR signals are inserted. The number of these pulses is counted by counter 7, and color signal sampling pulse l is outputted at the timing corresponding to the second and the third horizontal periods where color reference signals are included.
