Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the maintenance of a laser unit by flowing a fine current independently while a main current for excitation is not flowed to an excitation lamp, by detecting a voltage across the lamp and then by judging the deterioration of the lamp on the basis of the detected voltage. CONSTITUTION:The laser unit is composed of excitation lamp 11, the lst power supply 12 supplying a main current to the lamp, diode 15 prevents a reverse current from the 2nd power supply 13 provided afterwards, trigger circuit 17 controlling power supply 12, and oscillator 16, and lamp 16 is lighted at the oscillation period of oscillator 16 to irradiate a laser medium not shown in the figure. In the above constitution, the 2nd power supply 13 flowing a fine current is connected to lamp 11 via reverse-current preventive diode 15' and voltage detecting resistance 11, and a voltage developed across resistance 14 is detected by voltage detector 18 and then compared with a reference voltage by comparator 19. Namely, the output of comparator 19 is applied to alarm circuit 22 while the main current from the 1st power supply 12 to lamp 11 is previously cut off by circuits 21 and 20.
