Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain the high-speed feed and position control of a tape by a video signal recorded in one part of a recording track together with a discrimination signal (VICT signal) for the track, in a recording regenerator using two VTRs.
CONSTITUTION: In the recording regenerator which includes one VTR and its control part, two VTRs record and regenerate pictures of odd and even fields respectively. When the recording time is assigned by a time-width assignment circuit at the time of picture recording, a drum servo circuit drives a recording tape to move forward or backward so that the recording tape will return to the recording start position at the assigned time. During that time, a CTL signal and a picture signal with a mixed signal VICT signal to be inserted in a vertical fly-back interval are both recorded. This CTL signal, VICT signal and another VICT signal recorded into a memory at the time of the recording start are used as drive control signals for regeneration start position control at the time of feeding the tape at a high speed.
