Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic cash transaction machine to eject a foreign matter like a coin, a paper clip, etc., mistakenly inserted into a paper money deposit and payment port before deposited paper moneys are separated and to simultaneously stop separation of the deposited paper moneys which a fall of the foreign matter is detected. SOLUTION: An opening 36a is provided with a separation guide 36 of the paper money deposit and payment port 3 and a pressing plate 35 and a front plate 34 of a paper money pressing means are set to be movable in the same phase. The pressing plate 35 and the front plate 34 are rocked by revolving a motor forward and backward. When the fall of the foreign matter from the opening 36a of the separation guide 36 to a foreign matter receiving means 21 is detected by sensors 38a, 38b, the separation of the paper money is stopped.

2. Description of the Related Art An automatic cash transaction apparatus is an apparatus in which a customer performs transactions such as deposit, withdrawal, and transfer using a cash card, passbook, or transfer card without the intervention of a bank employee. In addition, not only functions such as deposit and withdrawal differ depending on the device, but also
The media handled is also different. There are two types of deposit: a device that handles both bills and coins, and a device that handles only bills.
In a device that handles both coins, there are usually separate deposit ports for bills and coins. However, even if the deposit port is different, when the customer deposits coins, coins are mistakenly inserted into the bill deposit port, and foreign matter such as coins and clips mixed in bills may cause deposits of bills. May be injected into the mouth.

[0003] Foreign matter such as coins inserted into the bill insertion slot can be eliminated if the user notices erroneous insertion, but in most cases the erroneous insertion is not noticed. Since the foreign matter is separated together with the banknote, the foreign matter not only damages the roller of the separation unit, but also induces a conveyance jam, which may cause an obstacle such as a device down.

In the prior art, coins are separated from bills and dropped by vibrating a floor or a bill receiving bar corresponding to a separation guide up and down, or swinging a push plate and a front plate, or a bill receiving system. In this method, the coin is tilted to separate from the upper end of the bill, and the coin is caused to fall downward.

In order to achieve the above object, a method of operating an automatic teller machine according to the present invention comprises a bill separating means for separating incoming bills one by one, and a bill collecting means for collecting bills to be dispensed. Means, and the bill separating means comprises bill feeding means including a feed-out roller, a feed roller, and a gate roller, and stands the deposited bill at a bill receiving / dispensing port on the upstream side of the bill separating means. A separation guide provided with an opening is provided, and a bill pressing means including a front plate and a pressing plate provided so as to sandwich a bill deposited on the separation guide from front and rear surfaces is provided. In an automatic teller machine having a bill depositing / dispensing port for swinging a plate and a front plate in phase to drop foreign matter such as coins mixed in the deposited bill, the foreign matter passes below the separation guide. Intellectual means is provided, when detecting foreign matter such as a coin falling from in the deposited paper is characterized by stopping the separation of the deposited banknotes.

[0010] According to the above configuration, the customer selects a deposit transaction using a cash card, a passbook, or the like to the automatic teller machine, and erroneously inserts a foreign object such as a coin or a clip together with the banknote into the banknote deposit / withdrawal port. Even if the transaction is performed as it is, the automated teller machine can detect foreign objects such as coins and clips falling under the separation guide, and thus can stop the separation of the deposited bill.

Next, the operation for depositing a bill will be described. After the customer accepts the passbook by making a deposit request from the display operation unit 2 of the automatic teller machine 1 shown in FIG. 1, the shutter 47 of the banknote pay-in / pay-out port 3 opens as shown in FIG. The banknote can be inserted. Since there is no problem in the case where only bills are inserted, a case where foreign matter is erroneously inserted will be described. If a foreign substance is erroneously inserted before the bill is inserted, the foreign substance falls freely to the foreign substance receiving means 21 from the opening 36a of the separation guide 36, so that the foreign substance does not remain on the separation guide 36 and no problem occurs. .

Before the shutter 47 is closed and the deposited banknotes are separated, the push plate 35 and the front plate 34 are set in the same phase and the coin 50 is
The paper money 51 is alternately swung toward the push plate 35 side and the front plate 34 side by swinging at a moderate speed and a stroke at which the paper money does not fall to the separation portion. As a result, the coin 50 on the paper money 51 and the paper money 51 The coin 50 sandwiched between the push plates 35 falls from the opening 36a of the separation guide 36 to the foreign matter receiving means 21. After the push plate 35 and the front plate 34 are swung to drop foreign matter into the foreign matter receiving means 21, the bill 51 is separated by the deposited bill separating means 11, whereby the deposit processing operation is performed accurately.

If the banknote 51 is separated in a state where foreign matter remains in the banknote pay-in / pay-out port 3, there is a possibility that an obstacle such as a conveyance jam occurs as described above. It is very difficult to detect whether or not foreign matter remains in the banknote pay-in / pay-out port 3. When a foreign object falls on the foreign object receiving means 21, it is determined that the foreign object remains in the bill receiving / dispensing port 3, and the separation of the bill is stopped, so that the obstacle can be prevented beforehand. Then, the shutter 47
And the customer checks the presence or absence of foreign matter, removes any foreign matter, and then performs the payment process again, so that the automatic teller machine can be operated smoothly without any trouble.

Including the fall of foreign matter at the time of bill insertion,
Before the bill is separated, the push plate 35 and the front plate 34 swing,
When the sensors 38a and 38b provided in the foreign matter receiving means 21 detect the fall of the foreign matter including the coin 50, it indicates that the foreign matter has been inserted into the banknote pay-in / pay-out port 3. The sensor that detects the fall of the foreign matter is, for example, optically turned on and off.
In order to reduce the number of sensors and improve the detection performance, it is preferable that the foreign matter receiving means 21 be provided with an inclination and installed downstream of the foreign matter receiving means 21 where foreign matter gathers.
