【発明の詳細な説明】[Detailed description of the invention]

本発明は天然に存在し、コルチコイド作用、解
毒作用、抗アレルギー作用、抗消化性潰瘍作用を
有し、さらにまた急性慢性の皮膚炎にも効果が知
られている生薬、グリシルリチンまたはその塩を
乳化剤として、化粧品および医薬品などに有効に
活用することを目的として、多価アルコール、グ
リシルリチンまたはその塩、油相成分および必要
に応じて水を含有して得られる多価アルコール中
油型乳化組成物(以下、単に乳化組成物と称す)、
及びこの乳化組成物に水相成分を加えて得られる
水中油型乳化組成物を提供するものである。 近年乳化に関する数多くの研究がなされ、多数
の乳化剤が開発され、また乳化技術の進歩もめざ
ましく、非常に安定なエマルシヨンがあらゆる工
業で広く利用されてきている。しかし、その多く
は、ポリオキシエチレン鎖を含有する非イオン界
面活性剤、脂肪酸石けんで代表されるアニオン界
面活性剤、カチオン界面活性剤及び両性界面活性
剤が乳化剤として使用され、人体に対する安全性
に懸念が持たれているものが多い。 そこで、本発明者らは、人体安定性の高い天然
物質を乳化剤として使用し、均一で微細な粒子を
持つエマルシヨンの開発を研究した結果、グリシ
ルリチンまたはその塩を含有する新規な乳化組成
物を見い出した。即ち、本発明者らの検討によれ
ば、油相成分に対してすぐれた乳化力を示し、均
一で安定なエマルシヨンを生成する。すなわち、
油に溶解しない多価アルコールとグリシルリチン
またはその塩および必要に応じて水を組み合せ、
これらに油相成分を加えることにより、多価アル
コール中もしくは水中に油相成分が可溶化もしく
はマイクロエマルシヨンとして均一に分散した乳
化組成物が得られることを見い出し、さらに、こ
の乳化物に水を加えることにより、均一な微細粒
子の分散した安定な水中油型乳化組成物が得られ
ることを見い出し、本発明を完成するに至つた。 本発明により得られた乳化組成物は透明もしく
は半透明の粘稠液体またはゲルであり、水を加え
た水中油型乳化組成物は乳白色の微細粒子のエマ
ルシヨンである。この微粒子の原因は、グリシル
リチンまたはその塩と多価アルコールが相互作用
し、多価アルコールまたは多価アルコール水溶液
に油相成分を効率的に包み込むためと思われる。 本発明において用いられる多価アルコールは分
子内に水酸基を2個以上有する親水性多価アルコ
ールで、エチレングリコール、プロピレングリコ
ール、1,3−ブチレングリコール、ジプロピレ
ングリコール、グリセリン、ジグリセリン、トリ
グリセリン、テトラグリセリンなどのポリグリセ
リン、グルコース、マルトース、マルチトール庶
糖、フラクトース、キシリトール、イノシトー
ル、ペンタエリスリトール、ソルビトール、マル
トトリオール、スレイトール、エリスリトール、
澱粉分解糖、澱粉分解糖還元アルコールなどであ
り、これらの配合量は2〜95wt%が好ましい。 本発明におけるグリシルリチンは、ラウル甘草
から抽出したグリシルリチン等が用いられ、又、
その塩を形成する物質としては、水酸化リチウ
ム、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム、水酸化

アルギニン、リシン、ヒスチジン、オルニチンな
どの塩基性アミノ酸、モノエタノールアミン、ジ
エタノールアミン、トリエタノールアミンなどの
塩基性アミンなどが用いられ、中和量は任意の量
でよい。本発明におけるグリシルリチンは、化粧
品原料であるグリチルリチン酸も含まれる。 塩はあらかじめ製造されるものだけでなく、乳
化組成物の製造工程中に製造されても良い。グリ
シルリチンまたはその塩と多価アルコールの使用
量は重量比で1:2〜1000が好ましい。 多価アルコールとグリシルリチンまたはその塩
に必要に応じて水を加える場合の使用量は多価ア
ルコールの重量の1/2を越えない範囲で、総量が
10W/W%以下であることが好ましい。 油相成分としては、牛脂、スクワラン、オリー
ブ油、ホホバ油などの動植物油脂および炭化水
素、流動パラフイン、ワセリンなどの鉱物油イソ
プロピルミリステート、ペンタエリスリトールテ
トラ−2−エチルヘキサネート、ビタミンAアセ
テートなどのエステル油、および、ジメチルシリ
コーン、メチルフエニルシリコーンなどのシリコ
ーン、油等の一般に、化粧品、医薬品、食品等の
業界で汎用される油分が用いられる。油相成分に
対して多価アルコールとカゼインまたはその塩と
必要に応じて含んだ合計使用量は20wt%以上に
することが望ましい。 使用目的に合わせて、非イオン界面活性剤、ア
ニオン界面活性剤、カチオン界面活性剤、両性界
面活性剤を混合添加してもよい。また均質安定
化、粘性調整などの目的で、水、アルコール、脂
肪酸、多の水溶性高分子などを添加してもよい。 ここに得られた乳化組成物は、均一で透明又は
半透明のゲル又は粘稠な液体であるので、このま
まで、例えば、サンケアオイル、美容液、ゼリ
ー、薬用ゼリー、潤滑油などとして、食品、化粧
品、医薬品、飼料などのあらゆる分野において好
適に使用することができる。 次に、上記のグリシルリチンまたはその塩と分
子内に2個以上の水酸基を有する水溶性多価アル
コールと油相成分と必要に応じて水を含む乳化組
成物に、さらに水相成分を含む水中油型乳化組成
物について説明する。 本発明に係る水中油型乳化組成物を得るには、
上記乳化組成物に水相成分を徐々に添加すれば得
られる。この場合、ホモミキサー処理を行なうこ
とが好ましいことは勿論である。ここに得られる
水中油型乳化組成物は極めて安定性に優れたもの
である。 上記乳化組成物と水相成分の量的関係について
は、極めて広範囲な割合でエマルシヨンを生成す
ることが可能であり、乳化組成物5〜80部を、水
相成分95〜20部で希釈して微細粒子を分散し、安
定な水中油型乳化組成物を調整するものである。 水相成分は、湿潤剤、水溶性ビタミン、水溶性
防腐剤、水溶性薬剤、水溶性高分子など、化粧
品、医薬品、食品などの業界で一般に汎用される
水相成分を水に溶解したものである。 ここに得られた水中油型乳化組成物は、均一で
微細な粒子を分散した乳白色の粘稠あるいは低粘
度の液体であるため、このままの形態でも、また
均質安定化、粘性調整、あるいは薬効を持たせる
ために、高級アルコール、脂肪酸、水溶性高分
子、薬剤、界面活性剤を添加することによつて
も、乳液、クリーム、フアウンデイシヨンなどの
化粧品、シヤンプー、リンスなどのトイレタリー
製品、尿素クリームなどの医薬品、マヨネーズな
どの食品などのあらゆる分野で好適に使用するこ
とができる。 以下本発明を実施例及び比較例を以つて説明す
る。 実施例1〜9、比較例1〜3 グリシルリチン塩、多価アルコール、精製水お
よび油を表−1に示す配合組成及び量で配合し、
70℃ホモミキサー処理して、乳化組成物を作つ
