Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electronic device, a display control method, and a medical management system useful for preventing medical accidents (medical errors), for example.
。 In recent years, measures to prevent medical accidents have become important as an evaluation item for hospitals, and there is also increasing interest in medical accident prevention systems within hospitals. In particular, there is a strong need to ensure medical safety for invasive procedures, that is, procedures performed by damaging a part of the human body (e.g., drug administration, procedures such as intravenous drip, radiotherapy, endovascular treatment, and surgery). Ru. In view of the current situation, proposals have been made to support the prevention of medical accidents (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
Many hospitals, especially large hospitals with large numbers of doctors, nurses (hereinafter also referred to as medical personnel) and patients, take measures to prevent past adverse events (incidents) from occurring in order to prevent medical accidents. Activities (medical safety activities) are being carried out whose main purpose is to prevent recurrence. In other words, by accumulating and analyzing information about past incidents, rules are formulated to prevent the same incidents from occurring. Efforts are being made to prevent similar incidents from occurring by having doctors and nurses comply with these rules.
However, conventional medical safety activities have had the following problems. The first problem is that it is necessary to inform and educate medical personnel about the above-mentioned rules. In other words, there may be frequent changes in medical personnel due to employment, retirement, dispatch to other hospitals, etc. Furthermore, the larger the scale of the hospital, the larger the number of rules. Therefore, it is difficult to provide training to ensure that all medical personnel, who are subject to rapid turnover, are thoroughly acquainted with the rules. Furthermore, it is realistically difficult to memorize all the numerous rules, regardless of the medical field in which you are responsible.
The second issue concerns the understanding of medical professionals who receive training on the rules. In other words, medical personnel who receive training on the rules find time in their busy schedules such as medical treatment to receive training on the rules. It is practically difficult to spend a lot of time understanding the rules, and this leads to insufficient understanding of the rules by medical professionals.
The third problem is the problem of enforcing the rules. When actually performing procedures such as surgery, medical personnel need to remember the rules. It is difficult to pinpoint the rules that are currently necessary from the large number of rules. Furthermore, even if the system is capable of searching for rules using electronic equipment, if the search cannot be performed easily, the system will become troublesome and the rules will not be fully implemented. Especially in the case of urgent treatment, there is no time to enter many items and search for the rules that are currently needed. Further, since the technique described in

[Processing performed in this embodiment]
Next, an example of processing performed in this embodiment will be described. In this embodiment, "thoracic drainage" will be described as a specific example of treatment for a patient. Chest cavity drainage is a procedure in which a tube-shaped chest cavity drain is inserted into the chest cavity (the space between the ribcage and the lung fields), and air and fluid within the chest cavity are drained through the chest cavity drain. The chest drain is connected to a device called a chest drain bag. In the following description, a configuration including a chest drain and a chest drain bag will also be appropriately referred to as a chest drain device. A chest tube is one type of medical device and an example of medical material. As used herein, medical materials refer to articles used in providing medical treatment.
(Processing overview)
Thoracic drainage can be performed not only in a dedicated treatment room such as an operating room, but also in a general hospital ward. Moreover, chest cavity drainage can be performed not only by a doctor in a specific medical department but also universally by doctors in many medical departments. That is, thoracic drainage can be performed at various locations within a hospital and with the involvement of various medical personnel with different knowledge and experience. It is desired that medical personnel involved in performing thoracic drainage at various locations where thoracic drainage is performed can easily check a checklist of precautions when performing thoracic drainage. According to this embodiment, a medical worker can easily check a checklist related to thoracic drainage. This will be explained in detail below.

By reflecting the checklist input information in the electronic medical record information of the patient PA, the history of the checklist can be saved. Furthermore, it is possible to verify at a later date whether or not the checklist has been checked when performing the thoracic drainage procedure. Furthermore, by storing the checklist input information for other patients in the same manner, it is also possible to calculate the usage rate of the checklist and the achievement rate of the checklist usage goal.

Although one embodiment of the present invention has been specifically described above, the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above, and various modifications based on the technical idea of the present invention are possible.
[Modification 1]
In the above-described embodiment, a medical device is used as an example of a medical material. However, medical materials to which a two-dimensional barcode is attached are not limited to medical devices, and can be used when providing medical treatment. Any article may be used as long as it is used. For example, the medical material may be a transport bed, and a two-dimensional barcode may be drawn at an appropriate location (preferably an easily visible location) on the transport bed.
Then, as in one embodiment, the two-dimensional barcode is read by the reading device, and the checklist is expanded into the electronic medical record being displayed. FIG. 10 shows an example of a checklist that is developed on the displayed electronic medical record by reading the two-dimensional barcode attached to the transport bed. The
