Description

The present invention relates to a film sticking apparatus for attaching a film member such as a 3D film or a polarizing film to a panel member such as a liquid crystal panel.

In the manufacturing process of a liquid crystal display, a film sticking apparatus is used to stick a film member such as a 3D film or a polarizing film to a panel member such as a liquid crystal panel. Conventionally, various types of film sticking apparatuses have been known. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a film sticking apparatus that employs a so-called “roller sticking system”.

As shown in FIG. 4, a film sticking apparatus 100 </ b> A described in Patent Document 1 includes a plurality of free rollers 104 on which the panel member 101 is placed, and a panel holding stage that holds the panel member 101 by suction above the free rollers 104. 103, a film holding stage 105 for sucking and holding the film member 102 so that the adhesive surface is exposed below the free roller 104, and application rollers 106 and 107 provided on the downstream side in the transport direction. The film holding stage 105 can be rotated (tilted) around the axis 105a.

In the film sticking apparatus 100A, the film member 102 is stuck as follows. That is, after the panel member 101 is moved to a predetermined position by the panel holding stage 103, the film holding stage 105 is tilted, whereby the starting end of the film member 102 is brought into contact with the panel member 101 (FIG. 4 ( A)) After that, the panel holding stage 103 is retracted and the adhering rollers 106 and 107 are brought close to each other, so that the panel member 101 and the film member 102 are sandwiched (FIG. 4B). When the application roller 107 rotates clockwise, the film member 102 is attached to the panel member 101 (FIG. 4C).

10)Japanese Patent Laying-Open No. 2005-7748 (particularly FIG. 10)

By the way, in the affixing of the 3D film to the liquid crystal panel, it is required that the positional deviation between the pixel of the liquid crystal panel and the lens-shaped uneven portion provided on the 3D film is extremely small. For example, when the pixel size of the liquid crystal panel is 100 μm, the required attaching position accuracy is 10 μm or less (in many cases, more strictly 5 μm or less), which is 1/10. Further, a film member such as a 3D film or a polarizing film may be curled due to the influence of residual stress or moisture absorption during production.

For this reason, in the conventional film sticking apparatus 100A, as shown in FIG. 5, the sticking end of the curled film member 102 is adhered to a position shifted from a predetermined position, and the required sticking position accuracy cannot be satisfied. was there. Since the degree of curl differs for each sheet, it is very difficult to cancel the effect of curl by adjusting the position of the panel member 101 or the film member 102 in advance in consideration of the degree of curl. It is.

In the film sticking apparatus 100B shown in FIG. 6 in which the positional relationship between the panel holding stage 103 and the film holding stage 105 is reversed upside down, the problem of misalignment due to the curling of the film member 102 occurs, as in the film sticking apparatus 100A. . Moreover, in the film sticking apparatus 100B, since the film member 102 is curled by its own weight, it is even more difficult to cancel the influence of the curl by adjusting the position of the panel member 101 or the film member 102 in advance.

This invention is made | formed in view of the said situation, The place made into the subject is providing the film sticking apparatus with very high sticking position accuracy.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the film sticking apparatus according to the present invention attaches a rectangular film member having a sticking end and a sticking end facing the sticking end from the sticking end to the sticking end to the panel member. A film holding apparatus, a panel holding stage for holding the panel member, a film holding stage for holding the entire surface of the film member so that the sticking surface of the film member faces the sticking surface of the panel member, and a film Of the film holding stage, the pressing mechanism that presses the member against the panel member, the tilting mechanism that tilts the film holding stage to bring the sticking end of the film member held on the film holding stage close to the panel member, and the film A tilting mechanism having a retracting mechanism that separates and retracts an end holding portion that holds the vicinity of the starting end of the member from other portions Tilting the film holding stage to contact the starting end of the film member and the panel member, thereby determining the attaching position of the film member with respect to the panel member, and then the retracting mechanism retracts the starting end holding portion, and Thereafter, the pressing mechanism moves to press the film member against the panel member.

According to the present invention, since the entire surface of the film member is held by the film holding stage until the position where the film member is attached to the panel member is determined, the attachment position is not affected by the curl. It can be confirmed. That is, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide a film sticking apparatus with extremely high sticking position accuracy.

The film holding stage can be configured to hold the film member by suction. However, in this case, it should be noted that the suction state by the sticking end holding portion and the suction state by other portions of the film holding stage should be able to be controlled to be released independently.

As for the said sticking end holding | maintenance part, it is preferable that the surface holding a film member is comprised with hard rubber or resin. According to this configuration, it is possible to determine the attaching position without damaging the film member and the panel member.

Moreover, in the said film sticking apparatus, in order to prevent mixing of a bubble, it is preferable that the angle which the sticking surface of a film member and the to-be-sticking surface of a panel member make is in the range of 1-5 degrees.

ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, the film sticking apparatus which can stick a film member to a panel member with the extremely high positional accuracy requested | required in the sticking of 3D film can be provided.

Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of a film sticking apparatus according to the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the following description, the horizontal direction in the drawing is referred to as the x direction, the depth direction is referred to as the y direction, and the vertical direction is referred to as the z direction.

[Configuration of film sticking device]
In FIG. 1, the film sticking apparatus which concerns on one Embodiment of this invention is shown. As shown in the figure, the film sticking device 1 is a device for sticking a rectangular 3D film that is a film member 21 to a pixel region of a liquid crystal panel that is a panel member 20, and a panel holding device that holds the panel member 20. A stage 2, a film holding stage 4 that holds the film member 21, a pressing mechanism 8 that presses the film member 21 against the panel member 20, and a tilting mechanism 7 that tilts the film holding stage 4 are provided. Moreover, the film sticking apparatus 1 is also provided with the control parts 10-14 which control each part.

The panel holding stage 2 has a panel holding surface 3 for holding the panel member 20. The panel holding surface 3 is formed with a plurality of suction holes connected to a suction mechanism (not shown), whereby the panel member 20 is sucked and held on the panel holding surface 3. Further, the panel holding stage 2 is movable at least in the x direction under the control of the traveling control unit 10.

The film holding stage 4 includes a sticking end holding portion 4a that holds the vicinity of the sticking end of the film member 21 and another portion 4b, and a continuous film holding surface 5 formed by the sticking end holding portion 4a and the portion 4b. have. A plurality of suction holes connected to a suction mechanism (not shown) are formed in the film holding surface 5, whereby the film member 21 is sucked and held on the film holding surface 5.

The film member 21 adsorbed and held on the film holding surface 5 is in a state where the separator is previously peeled off and the adhesive surface is exposed.

The film sticking apparatus 1 further includes a retracting mechanism 6. The retraction mechanism 6 includes a base portion 6a fixed to the portion 4b of the film holding stage 4, and a connecting portion 6b whose one end is rotatably attached to the base portion 6a and the other end is fixed to the sticking end holding portion 4a. . The connecting portion 6b rotates about 180 ° under the control of the retraction control portion 13. Thereby, the sticking end holding portion 4a is retracted to the position 4a '.

The tilt mechanism 7 is provided on the part 4 b side of the film holding stage 4, and tilts the entire film holding stage 4 (4 a, 4 b) and the retracting mechanism 6 under the control of the tilt control unit 11. Thereby, the film holding surface 5 of the film holding stage 4 is parallel to the panel holding surface 3, or the starting end of the film member 21 adsorbed and held by the starting end holding portion 4a is close to the panel member 20. It becomes a state.

Further, the tilting mechanism 7 is movable in the z direction under the control of the elevation control unit 12. When the tilting mechanism 7 moves in the z direction, the film holding stage 4, the retracting mechanism 6, and the film member 21 also move together.

The pressing mechanism 8 includes a roller 8a and a cylinder 8b. When the cylinder 8b is extended under the control of the elevating control unit 14, the roller 8a is lowered to the space created by the retracting of the sticking end holding portion 4a, and the film member 21 is pressed against the panel member 20 by the roller 8a. The elevation controller 14 controls the pressure of the cylinder 8b. That is, the elevating control unit 14 adjusts the height of the roller 8a by controlling the expansion and contraction of the cylinder 8b so that the reaction force applied to the roller 8a from the film member 21 side becomes substantially constant.

[Pasting operation of film sticking device]
Next, the sticking operation of the film sticking apparatus 1 will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3.

FIG. 2A shows an initial state before the pasting operation is started. As shown in the figure, the panel holding surface 3 and the film holding surface 5 are held in parallel at a predetermined distance. Further, the panel member 20 is sucked and held at a predetermined position of the panel holding surface 3, and the film member 21 is sucked and held at a predetermined position of the film holding surface 5. The separator of the film member 21 is peeled off in advance. For this reason, the film member 21 is in a state where the adhesive surface is exposed.

FIG. 2B shows a state after the tilt mechanism 7 tilts the film holding stage 4 by an angle θ under the control of the tilt control unit 11. By this operation, the starting end of the film member 21 is close to the panel member 20, but as shown in the figure, the starting end of the film member 21 and the panel member 20 are separated by a distance d and are not in contact with each other.

FIG. 2C shows a state after the tilt mechanism 7, the film holding stage 4, and the film member 21 have moved by a distance d in the z direction under the control of the elevation control unit 12. By this operation, the sticking end of the film member 21 sucked and held by the sticking end holding portion 4a comes into contact with the panel member 20, and the sticking position is determined by the adhesive force of the adhesive surface. At this time, the angle formed by the application surface (adhesion surface) of the film member 21 and the application surface of the panel member 20 is θ. As will be described later, the angle θ is preferably set in the range of 1 to 5 °.

Instead of moving the film holding stage 4 and the film member 21, the panel holding stage 2 and the panel member 20 may be moved by a distance d in the z direction. Further, the operation of FIG. 2C may be omitted, and the attachment position may be determined by bringing the film member 21 and the panel member 20 into contact with each other by the operation of FIG. However, from the viewpoint of reducing the impact when the film member 21 and the panel member 20 come into contact with each other, it is preferable to determine the attachment position by moving the film holding stage 4 or the panel holding stage 2 in the z direction.

Moreover, in order to reduce said impact, it is preferable that the sticking end holding | maintenance part 4a has at least the film holding surface 5 comprised with hard rubber or resin.

FIG. 3A shows a state after the connecting portion 6b is rotated under the control of the retraction control unit 13 and the sticking end holding portion 4a is retreated. Since the pasting position has already been determined by the operation of FIG. 2C, even if the sticking start end of the film member 21 is not sucked and held, the pasting position does not shift. In addition, when performing this operation | movement, it is necessary to stop the operation | movement of the suction mechanism connected to the adsorption | suction hole of the sticking end holding | maintenance part 4a previously. On the other hand, in order to prevent the film member 21 from falling off, the suction mechanism connected to the suction hole of the portion 4b needs to be continuously operated.

FIG. 3B shows a state after the roller 8a has moved to a space formed by the cylinder 8b extending under the control of the elevation control unit 14 and the sticking end holding portion 4a being retracted. Thereby, the sticking end of the film member 21 is pressed against the panel member 20, and the film member 21 and the panel member 20 are more strongly bonded.

FIG. 3C shows a state in which the film member 21 is being pasted from the pasting end to the pasting end as the panel holding stage 2 moves in the x direction under the control of the traveling control unit 10. When the panel holding stage 2 moves, the panel member 20 sucked and held by the panel holding stage 2 also moves together. Further, when the panel member 20 moves, the film member 21 having the start end bonded to the panel member 20 also moves together. The sticking terminal side of the film member 21 is weakly adsorbed and held to such an extent that it does not fall off from the film holding surface 5.

As described above, it is preferable to set the angle θ between the application surface of the film member 21 and the application surface of the panel member 20 in the range of 1 to 5 °. If the angle θ is smaller than 1 °, the panel member 20 and the film member 21 are bonded to each other at a portion not yet pressed by the roller 8a, and there is a possibility that bubbles are mixed. On the other hand, if the angle θ is larger than 5 °, the sticking end of the film member 21 that is no longer held by suction will drop off vigorously and air bubbles may be mixed in or the film member 21 may be burdened.

When the panel holding stage 2 further moves in the x direction from the state shown in FIG. 3C, the pasting is completed.

As mentioned above, although preferable embodiment of the film sticking apparatus which concerns on this invention was described, this invention is not limited to said form.

For example, in the said embodiment, although the film member 21 which has an adhesive surface was affixed, the adhesive surface may be formed in the panel member 20 side. In the above embodiment, the film member 21 is stuck by pressing it from above with the roller 8a. However, even if the film member 21 is stuck by reversing the whole apparatus and pressing the film member 21 from below, the film member 21 is stuck. Good.

Moreover, in the said embodiment, although the sticking end holding | maintenance part 4a was evacuated by rotating the connection part 6b of the evacuation mechanism 6, if the space for the roller 8a can be made, how to evacuate Can be changed arbitrarily.

Moreover, in the said embodiment, although 3D film (film member 21) was affixed on the liquid crystal panel (panel member 20), the film sticking apparatus 1 which concerns on this invention attaches arbitrary film members 21 to the arbitrary panel members 20. FIG. Can be pasted. As a combination of the panel member 20 and the film member 21, for example, “liquid crystal panel-polarizing film” and “electronic paper-color filter” can be considered.
