図３は，上記のようなジョブの完了か否かの判断に代えて当該ユーザが複写機３にログオン中であるか，つまりログオフしたかどうかを検出し（Ｓ１３），いまだログオフされていない場合には，そのユーザによる複写機３の使用状態が継続しているものとみなして，ドアＤからの退出禁止状態を維持する（Ｓ１９）場合の処理手順を示している。細部は前記図２に示した処理と同じであるので詳細な説明は省略する。

このような処理によって，ユーザは自分のジョブの終了を確認することができ，同時に，誰かが上記複写機３を使用しても前のユーザの画像情報がその後のユーザに漏れるといった問題が生じない。
前記のようにユーザによるＩＣカードの再提示あるいはドアＤを開けるような指示が行われたときに，ドアＤの開信号を送出する処理が，本発明における「ユーザによる前記所定の状態を解除させる動作が行われたことを検知した場合に，前記所定の状態を解除する信号を前記画像処理装置に送信すると共に，当該ユーザの退室禁止を解除するように前記ドア駆動装置を制御すること」に該当する。
なお，上記実施形態では，画像処理装置として複写機を例に挙げたが，すでに述べたように，複写機，ファクシミリのような画像形成装置はもとより，画像を取り込むためのスキャナにも適用可能であることは言うまでもない。
