Description

The present invention relates to a contact structure of a mounting portion of a connector, and targets a normal connector and a hermaphroditic connector.

。   A conventional fitting structure of a pair of connectors will be described with reference to a publication distributed before the present application (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

FIG. 13 is a cross-sectional view of a state in which one connector 41 and the other connector 51 are fitted.

In FIG. 13, the connector 41 includes a large number of contacts 42, an insulator 43 that holds each contact 42, and a hold-down 44 that is held by the insulator 43. The contacts 42 are arranged so as to face two rows in a direction orthogonal to the paper surface at a predetermined pitch. The connector 41 is fixed to the printed circuit board 61 by a hold down 44.

The connector 51 includes a large number of contacts 52, an insulator 53 that holds each contact 52, and a hold-down 54 that is held by the insulator 53. The contacts 52 are arranged so as to face two rows in a direction orthogonal to the paper surface at a predetermined pitch. The connector 51 is fixed to the printed circuit board 71 by a hold down 54.

14A and 14B are views of the contact 42 of one connector 41. FIG. 14A is a perspective view of the contact 42, FIG. 14B is a side view of the contact 42, and FIG. 14C is a plan view of the contact 42. Show.

The contact 42 includes a contact portion 42a connected to the contact 52 of the connector 51,
A body portion 42b held by press-fitting into an insertion hole (not shown) of the insulator 43, lead portions 42d and 42e connectable to pads 62 and 63 of the printed circuit board 61 (see FIG. 16), and held by the insulator 43. The holding portion 42f is substantially L-shaped. The thickness s of the body part 42b is formed thinner than the thickness t of the contact part 42a.

FIG. 15 is a perspective view of the contact 52 of the other connector 51.

The contact 52 includes a joint portion 52a that is in sliding contact with the contact 42 of the connector 41, and
Lead portions 52b and 52c connectable to pads (not shown) of the printed circuit board 71;
The holding portion 52d held by the insulator 53 is formed in a substantially F shape.

In the printed circuit board 61, as shown in FIG. 16, in the longitudinal direction of the connector 41, a pad 63 at a short distance a from the axis c of the connector 41 and a pad 62 at a long distance b are staggered (staggered). ) Is arranged. And it arrange | positions symmetrically centering on the axial center c.

When one connector 41 is mounted on the printed circuit board 61, as shown in FIG. 16, the lead portion 42d of the contact 42 is soldered to the pad 63 at the short distance a, and the lead portion 42e is soldered to the pad 62 at the long distance b. Attached. Thus, since both the lead portions 42d and 42e are provided in the contact 42, when one of the lead portions (for example, 42d) is soldered, the other lead portion (for example, the contact portion 42e) is provided. ) Is not soldered and is not electrically connected to the pad 62 or 63. Therefore, by arranging the pads on the printed circuit board 61 side in a staggered (staggered) manner, the soldering surface mounting of the connector 41 in which the contacts 42 are arranged at a high density with a narrow pitch becomes possible.

The conventional pair of connectors has the following drawbacks.

1. Since the first terminal portion 42d is located between the contact portion 42a and the holding portion 42f, stress due to the contact force with the contact 52 is applied to the first terminal portion 42d, which adversely affects SMT (surface mounting) bonding (stress on the solder). And the solder is cracked or peeled off. This stress also adversely affects the second terminal portion 42e near the holding portion 42f.

2. Since the contact portion 42a and the SMT terminal portion 42d are relatively short in distance and cannot prevent solder rise, the solder rise may be caused near the contact portion 42a.

3. An elastic part is formed between the holding part 52d and the joint part 52a, but since there is a lead part 52b between them, a difference in spring constant occurs between adjacent contacts 52. For this reason, a difference occurs in the contact force between the adjacent contacts 52.

Therefore, the present invention improves the drawbacks of the conventional pair of connectors, and exerts an adverse effect on SMT (surface mount) bonding by preventing stress when the connector contact comes into contact with the mating connector on the first terminal portion. Connectors and hermaphroditic connectors that do not cause any stress (stress is applied to the solder, cracks in the solder, or peel off), prevent solder from rising near the contact portion, and also prevent plastic deformation of the contact. Is to provide.

As is apparent from the description of the specification, the present invention has the following effects.

1. Since the contact of the present invention is configured to extend the first terminal portion, the second terminal portion, and the contact portion in the same direction from the connecting portion located on the mating side with the mating connector, the contact is in contact with the mating connector. The stress is not applied to the first terminal portion and the second terminal portion, and the SMT (surface mounting) bonding is not adversely affected (stress is applied to the solder, the solder is cracked or peeled off).

2. The distance between the contact portion and the first terminal portion and the second terminal portion is relatively long, and it is easy to prevent the solder from rising in terms of shape.

3. There is no elastic part between the contact part and the second terminal part, and there is the first terminal part between them, so there is no difference in spring constant between adjacent contacts. For this reason, the contact can be designed with a uniform contact force.
