Description

The present invention is provided with an airbag that is mounted on a cowl below a rear end of a hood panel of a vehicle and covers a front side of a front pillar from a windshield when the inflation gas is introduced and expanded. The present invention relates to a pedestrian airbag device.

Conventionally, in a pedestrian airbag device, folded airbags are stored near the left and right sides of the cowl, respectively, and when each airbag completes inflation, the front side of the left and right front pillars of the vehicle, respectively. There is one configured so as to cover (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

In this airbag device for pedestrians, an uneven portion for deployment is formed on the lower surface side of the hood panel so that the airbag can smoothly cover the front side of the front pillar.

Further, in the pedestrian airbag device, a guide member that guides the airbag when the airbag is deployed and inflated in the pillar and a slide that can slide on the guide member so that the airbag can smoothly cover the front side of the front pillar. The air bag is provided with a cable or the like connected to the sliding block (for example, see Patent Document 2).
JP 2002-36986 A JP 2003-182485 A

However, when a rugged portion is provided on the lower surface side of the hood panel as a pedestrian airbag device so as to guide the front side of the front pillar, the airbag itself at the time of deployment and inflation is provided at the rear end of the hood panel. It protrudes from between the lower surface and the cowl below it, and if it is interfered (contacted) with the concavo-convex part so that the airbag in the middle of inflation is guided to the concavo-convex part, the frictional resistance at that time quickly It becomes difficult to deploy.

Moreover, in the pedestrian airbag apparatus in which the guide mechanism is provided on the front pillar, the mechanism is inevitably complicated, and the pedestrian airbag apparatus cannot be simply configured.

The present invention solves the above-mentioned problem, and as a simple configuration, the airbag can be rapidly deployed and inflated and can stably cover the front side of the front pillar. The purpose is to provide.

A first pedestrian airbag device according to the present invention is inflated by inflating a gas by flowing an inflation gas into lower cowls on both sides in the lateral direction in the vicinity of the rear end of the hood panel of the vehicle. Pedestrian air constructed by disposing an airbag that covers the front side of the front pillar from the shield, an inflator that supplies inflation gas to the airbag, and a case that houses the folded airbag and inflator A bag device,
The airbag is configured to include a vehicle body side wall portion that becomes the vehicle body side on the lower surface side when the inflation is completed, and a pedestrian side wall portion that becomes the pedestrian side on the upper surface side,
The vehicle body side wall portion is configured to include a portion from the pillar cover portion that covers the front surface of the front pillar to the mounting portion that is attached to the case.
The inflator is disposed so that the inflow direction of the inflation gas supplied into the airbag in the case is substantially parallel to the direction from the lower end of the front pillar toward the upper end of the front pillar,
The case uses the rear wall as the opening wall from which the airbag protrudes, and the upper surface of the lower wall of the case between the front wall and the opening wall facing the opening wall in the front-rear direction extends from the lower end of the windshield toward the upper end. It is characterized by being fixed to the cowl so as to be arranged substantially parallel to the inclination.

In the first pedestrian airbag device according to the present invention, when activated, the inflator supplies inflation gas to the airbag, the airbag inflates by inflating the inflation gas, and the rear end of the hood panel. It protrudes from the case fixed to the cowl below and expands and expands so as to cover the front side of the front pillar.

At that time, the case fixed to the cowl has the upper surface of the lower wall of the case between the front wall and the opening wall from which the airbag protrudes along the front-rear inclination from the lower end to the upper end of the windshield. The airbag protruding from the case is guided by the upper surface of the lower wall of the case, and protrudes along the front-rear direction inclination from the lower end to the upper end of the windshield. The inclination in the front-rear direction from the lower end of the windshield toward the upper end is parallel to the direction from the lower end of the front pillar toward the upper end of the front pillar. Therefore, the airbag protrudes from the case so as to be easily deployed and inflated along the inclination of the windshield and the front pillar.

The inflator is disposed so that the inflow direction of the inflation gas supplied into the airbag in the case is substantially parallel to the direction from the lower end of the front pillar toward the upper end of the front pillar. Therefore, when the airbag protrudes from the case and is unfolded to be deployed and inflated, the inflow direction of the inflating gas that flows in is parallel to the front pillar in three dimensions, that is, even when viewed from above. As seen from the side, it expands and expands smoothly along the inclination of the windshield and the front pillar as parallel to the front pillar.

As a result, the airbag protrudes from the case along the inclination of the windshield and the front pillar by the guidance of the case itself at the initial stage of deployment and inflation. Further, during the deployment and deployment, the airbag is guided by the flow of inflation gas in the inflator. In this way, it is possible to suppress the situation of separation from the front side of the front pillar, including the lift that separates by the reaction after being pressed against the front side of the front pillar, and to complete the expansion so as to smoothly cover the front side of the front pillar. It becomes possible to make it.

In addition, the vehicle body side wall portion arranged on the lower surface side of the airbag is configured to include a portion from the pillar cover portion that covers the front surface of the front pillar to the mounting portion that is attached to the case. From the front side of the windshield to the front side of the front pillar, the side wall of the vehicle body can be easily flattened, and the airbag can be deployed and inflated while further suppressing the lifting from the front pillar.

And in the 1st pedestrian airbag apparatus of this invention, it only considers the arrangement | positioning direction of a case and the outflow direction of the gas for inflation from an inflator, and it becomes an airbag in the middle of inflation. Since parts / members such as guide members that are brought into contact with each other are not used, a simple configuration can be achieved, and the airbag can be rapidly inflated and inflated.

Therefore, in the first pedestrian airbag device according to the present invention, as a simple configuration, the airbag can be rapidly inflated and inflated, and can stably cover the front side of the front pillar.

The airbag is housed in a case by providing an inner roll folding portion formed by performing roll folding on the side of the vehicle body side wall so that the rear end side at the time of completion of deployment is brought closer to the front end side. It is desirable to do.

That is, if the airbag is folded and stored in the case in this way, when the inflation gas is introduced and the airbag is unfolded and deployed and inflated, the winding core on the side of the vehicle body side wall portion is winded. In order to cancel the fold so as to unwind while maintaining the state of approaching the shield, even if the airbag lifts from the wind seal momentarily during deployment, when the subsequent fold is canceled, The airbag itself is deployed and inflated by approaching the windshield, so that the deployment and inflation can be completed smoothly covering the front side of the front pillar.

In the second pedestrian airbag device according to the present invention, the folded airbag is housed in the lower cowl near the rear end of the hood panel of the vehicle, and the airbag causes the inflation gas to flow in. It is configured with a main body that covers the front side of the front pillar from the windshield when deployment and expansion are completed,
The hood panel is a pedestrian airbag device configured by providing a hinge mechanism at the time of opening and closing on the side edge in the left-right direction at the rear end,
The airbag includes a main body that inflates by inflating the inflation gas, and an attachment that is attached to the case.
The main body is arranged on the inside of the pillar cover that covers the front side of the front pillar and the center side in the left-right direction of the vehicle connected to the pillar cover, and extends to the mounting part in the case covering the front of the windshield A wind cover, and
The mounting portion is disposed in the region of the width dimension in the left-right direction at the lower end of the window cover portion, and the width dimension in the left-right direction at the lower end of the window cover portion extending from the inner mounting portion to the outer side in the left-right direction. An extended mounting portion that protrudes out of the area of
The airbag is recessed between the extended mounting part and the pillar cover part on the inner side, which is the center side in the left-right direction of the vehicle, and interferes with the hinge mechanism arranged at the rear end of the hood panel during deployment. It is characterized by being provided with a recess that can be prevented.

In the second pedestrian airbag device according to the present invention, the hinge is disposed at the rear end of the hood panel by the recess when the airbag is inflated to complete the deployment and inflation when activated. The airbag body is deployed and inflated without interfering with the mechanism, and the airbag body portion is arranged so that the pillar cover portion covers the front surface of the front pillar, and the wind cover portion covers the front surface of the windshield. It arrange | positions so that it may extend to an inside attachment part.

And the recessed part which prevents interference (contact) with a hinge mechanism is formed in the front side of a pillar cover part, and the pillar cover part itself which completed the expansion | swelling becomes an outer side of the left-right direction of a vehicle from a window cover part. It is formed so as to extend to the edge side, and it is easy to float from the front side of the front pillar so that the edge side is twisted to the center side in the left-right direction of the vehicle. However, the mounting portion of the airbag to the case extends in the left and right direction from the inner mounting portion in addition to the inner mounting portion disposed in the region of the width dimension in the left and right direction at the lower end of the window cover portion. An extended mounting portion is formed so as to protrude outside a region having a width dimension in the left-right direction at the lower end of the cover portion. For this reason, the extended mounting portion can be restrained from being lifted against the moment of lifting from the front pillar of the pillar cover portion.

Of course, this extended mounting portion can counter the torsional moment that rises from the front pillar of the pillar cover portion even during the expansion and inflation of the airbag. It is possible to prevent the lift from the pillar.

In the second pedestrian airbag apparatus according to the present invention, as to the attachment part of the airbag to the case, in addition to the inner attachment part, it is only necessary to provide an extended attachment part. Since parts / members such as a guide member that guides the bag in contact with the bag are not used, the bag can be simply configured, and the airbag can be rapidly inflated and inflated. Furthermore, since the airbag does not interfere with the hinge mechanism of the hood panel due to the predetermined recess, the airbag can be rapidly inflated and inflated.

Therefore, even in the second pedestrian airbag apparatus according to the present invention, as a simple configuration, the airbag can be quickly deployed and inflated without interfering with the hinge mechanism of the hood panel, and can be stably moved forward. The front side of the pillar can be covered.

In the first and second pedestrian airbag devices according to the present invention, a reinforcing material is disposed on the cowl on the lower surface side of the case, and the reinforcing material is a reaction when the airbag protruding from the case protrudes. It is desirable to attach to the cowl so that force can be received.

In such a configuration, the protruding direction of the airbag protruding from the case can be stabilized, and the airbag pillar cover portion disposed so as to cover the front surface of the front pillar can be smoothly and smoothly mounted on the front surface of the front pillar. It can be expanded and inflated to cover.

DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. A pedestrian airbag device M1 according to a first embodiment has a rear end 16 of a hood panel 13 of a vehicle V as shown in FIGS. The airbag 45, the inflator 38 that supplies the inflation gas to the airbag 45, the case 31 that houses the airbag 45 and the inflator 38, and the rear of the hood panel 13, near the left edge 18 and the right edge 19. An actuator 29 that raises the end 16 and a hinge mechanism 21 that supports the hood panel 13 and guides the rotation of the hood panel 13 are disposed.

The hood panel 13 is made of sheet metal and is disposed so as to cover the upper part of the engine room ER in the vehicle V. The rear end on the left and right edges (left edge 18, right edge 19, edge 20) side The hinge mechanism 21 disposed in the vicinity of 16 is connected to the body (vehicle body) 1 of the vehicle V so as to be openable and closable by a front opening as shown by a one-dot chain line in FIG. As shown by the two-dot chain line in FIG. 3, the protruding gap PS of the airbag 45 is formed between the cowl 10 and the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13 by the push-up operation of the actuator 29 during the deployment and expansion of the The rear end 16 side can be raised. When the rear end 16 is raised, the front end 17 side of the hood panel 13 is locked to the body 1 side so as to be openable and closable, and the rear end 16 side rises with the locked front end 17 side as the center of rotation. It becomes.

The front bumper 7 of the vehicle V is provided with a sensor 8 capable of detecting a collision with a pedestrian as shown in FIG. When the circuit detects a collision with the pedestrian of the vehicle V based on the signal from the sensor 8, the actuator 29 (see FIGS. 2 and 3) that raises the rear end 16 side of the inflator 38 and the hood panel 13 is operated. It is configured as follows.

In this specification, the front-rear and up-and-down directions are based on the direction corresponding to the front-rear and up-and-down of the vehicle V, respectively, and the left and right directions are the left and right directions when the rear side is viewed from the front side of the vehicle V. Based on direction.

In addition, the components such as the airbag 45 arranged on the left and right of the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13 in the pedestrian airbag apparatus M1 are arranged symmetrically, and are arranged on the left side hereinafter. The pedestrian airbag device M1 will be described. However, the components arranged on the right side and the parts on the body 1 side near the mounting position are symmetrical with those on the left side unless otherwise specified, and the description is omitted. To do. Further, the left edge 18 and the right edge 19 which are the left and right edges of the hood panel 13 will be described as the edge 20 unless otherwise specified.

2, 3 and 7, the hinge mechanism 21 includes a hinge base 22 fixed to the body 1 side of the vehicle V, a mounting bracket 26 fixed to the hood panel 13 side, and the hinge base 22 and the mounting bracket. 26, and a hinge arm 23 pivotally supported by 26.

The hinge base 22 is made of sheet metal and has a L-shaped cross section including a horizontal wall portion 22a and a vertical wall portion 22b. The hinge base 22 is fixed to the body 1 side of the vehicle V. The rear end 16 is disposed so as to be located near the outer edge 20 in the left-right direction. The horizontal wall portion 22a is fixedly attached to the mounting flange 3 extending to the engine room ER side of the fender panel 2 on the body 1 side, and the vertical wall portion 22b is arranged to extend upward from the edge of the horizontal wall portion 22a on the engine room ER side. It is installed.

The mounting bracket 26 is made of sheet metal and has a left-right cross-section including a horizontal wall portion 26a and a vertical wall portion 26b. The mounting bracket 26 is fixed to the hood panel 13 side. It is arranged in the area of the hood panel 13 on the side. The horizontal wall portion 26a is attached and fixed to the lower surface 15 near the edge 20 in the left-right direction of the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13, and the vertical wall portion 26b is the edge side away from the engine room ER in the horizontal wall portion 26a, that is, the hood panel 13. It is arrange | positioned so that it may extend below from the edge 20 of the left-right direction.

The hinge arm 23 is formed by bending an angle member having a horizontal wall portion 23a and a vertical wall portion 23b made of sheet metal, and is formed in an L shape when viewed from the left-right direction. Then, the hinge arm 23 uses the support shaft 21a in which the rear end 23c side of the vertical wall portion 23b is disposed in the axial direction along the left-right direction, and the engine room ER side of the vertical wall portion 22b of the hinge base 22 is used. The front end 23d side of the vertical wall portion 23b is supported on the engine room ER side of the vertical wall portion 26b of the mounting bracket 26 by using the support shaft 21b arranged in the axial direction along the left-right direction. I am letting. The shaft support portion pivotally supported on the hinge base 22 on the rear end 23c side is rotated normally when the front end 17 side of the hood panel 13 is lifted during normal use and when the protruding gap PS is formed. The shaft support portion that is supported by the mounting bracket 26 on the front end 23d side as the dynamic shaft support portion 24 is the push-up rotation shaft support portion 25 that can rotate only when the protruding gap PS is formed.

The pivoting movement of the push-up pivot shaft support 25 is not performed during normal use of the hood panel 13 so as to penetrate the vertical wall 26b of the mounting bracket 26 and the vertical wall 23b of the hinge arm 23. A shear pin 27 as a coupling member that can be decoupled is attached. The shear pin 27 is coupled so that the mounting bracket 26 and the hinge arm 23 are integrated, and the hood panel 13 is formed by the push-up rod 29a of the actuator 29. As shown in FIG. 7B, the shear pin 27 is sheared, the integration of the mounting bracket 26 and the hinge arm 23 is released, and the upward rotation shaft support portion 25 is moved toward the mounting bracket 26 side. The hinge arm 23 is configured to be rotatable.

As shown in FIGS. 2, 3, and 7, the actuator 29 includes a push-up rod 29a having an axial direction extending in the vertical direction. A micro gas generator is built in the actuator 29, and the micro gas generator is operated during operation. The push-up rod 29a is instantaneously moved upward by the combustion gas generated by the above. The actuator 29 is disposed on the lower surface 15 side in the vicinity of the edge 20 in the left-right direction of the hood panel 13 on the front side of the push-up rotation shaft support portion 25 of the hinge arm 23. In the case of the first embodiment, the actuator 29 is fixed to the front side of the mounting flange 3 to which the hinge base 22 is fixed, and the push-up rod 29a is attached to the receiving seat 28 provided on the lower surface of the front wall side 26a of the mounting bracket 26. It is in contact. It should be noted that the push-up rod 29a is not simply coupled to contact with the receiving seat 28 but is detached from the rising receiving seat 28 during normal use in which the front end 17 side of the hood panel 13 is raised.

When the actuator 29 is activated and the push-up rod 29a moves upward, the front end 17 side of the hood panel 13 is moved through the receiving seat 28 on the side edge 20 in the left-right direction near the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13. The vicinity of the rear end 16 ascends as the center of rotation (see the two-dot chain line in FIG. 3 and B in FIG. 7). At that time, the shear pin 27 is sheared so as to release the connection between the mounting bracket 26 and the hinge arm 23, The hinge base 22 is configured so that the hinge arm 23 is raised on the front end 23d side, which is the push-up rotation shaft support portion 25 side, with the normal rotation shaft support portion 24 and the push-up rotation shaft support portion 25 of the hinge mechanism 21 as the rotation center. And the mounting bracket 26, and a protruding gap PS for the airbag 45 is formed between the cowl 10 and the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13.

It should be noted that the hinge base 22 and the hinge arm 23 are hinged when rotating upward on the front end 23d side of the hinge arm 23 with the normal rotation shaft support 24 as the rotation center during normal rotation or push-up rotation. Since the front end 23d side of the arm 23 protrudes upward from the fender panel 2, as shown in FIG. 2 as a planar shape from the rear to the front so as not to interfere with the edge 2a on the engine room ER side of the fender panel 2. The hinge arm 23 is offset together with the vertical wall portion 22b of the hinge base 22 so as to bend and bend toward the engine room ER side.

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 5, the inflator 38 holds a cylinder-type columnar main body 39 in which the axial direction C2 is arranged in the left-right direction, the main body 39, and the main body 39 together with the airbag 45 to the case 31. And a retainer 40 to be attached. The retainer 40 is accommodated in a base portion 47 a of the wind cover portion 47 of the airbag 45. The main body 39 includes a plurality of gas discharge ports 39b that discharge the inflation gas to the edge 20 side of the hood panel 13. The retainer 40 is formed in a cylindrical shape capable of covering the main body 39, and is provided with an opening 40a in which the rear side of the gas discharge port 39a is cut into a half-cylindrical shape. In addition, the retainer 40 includes a holding portion 40b that can hold and hold the main body 39, and a plurality of (implemented) that are arranged in parallel in the left-right direction on the outer peripheral side of a portion that is shifted 90 degrees downward from the opening 40a. Two bolts 41 are protruded in the form. These bolts 41 pass through the attachment holes 51 a of the airbag 45 and are fastened to the nuts 42, so that the peripheral edges of the attachment holes 51 a of the airbag 45 are attached to the case 31. Furthermore, in the case of the first embodiment, the inflator 38 has the gas discharge port 39a and the opening 40a arranged on the edge 20 side of the hood panel 13 while keeping the axial direction C2 along the axial direction C1 of the case 31. Housed in the case 31.

As shown in FIGS. 2, 3, and 7, the case 31 that stores and holds the airbag 45 and the inflator 38 is made of a synthetic resin having a horizontally long rectangular parallelepiped shape, and a rear wall 31 a is disposed obliquely rearward and upward. The wall 31a is an opening wall 32 that is opened when the airbag 45 is protruded. The opening wall 32 is provided with a horizontally-long rectangular plate-shaped door portion 33 that is pushed by an inflating airbag 45 to open. A hinge portion 33a made of an integral hinge is disposed on the upper edge side of the door portion 33, and a thin-walled fracture portion 34 (see FIG. 2) is disposed around the door portion 33 excluding the hinge portion 33a. Then, when the airbag 45 is inflated, the breakable portion 34 is broken, and the door portion 33 is opened upward with the hinge portion 33a as the rotation center.

The case 31 is formed in a box shape by bending a predetermined synthetic resin plate that is flattened and using welding, bonding, bolts 41, or the like.

The lower wall 31d facing the front side upper wall 31b connected to the rear wall 31a in the case 31 is a mounting wall portion 35 provided with mounting holes 35a through which the bolts 41 of the retainer 40 are inserted. The attachment wall portion 35 is a part attached to the cowl 10. In the embodiment, each bolt 41 of the retainer 40 attaches the airbag 45 and the inflator 38 to the case 31 and attaches the case 31 itself to the cowl 10. Playing a role. In the case of the embodiment, the airbag 45 includes an extended mounting portion 52 that is separated from the inflator 38 toward the edge 20 (see FIGS. 2, 4, and 5), and the airbag 45 includes the extended mounting portion 52. It is attached to the case 31 and further to the cowl 10 by means of bolts 43 (see FIG. 4) inserted into the attachment holes 52a provided in the case.

As shown in FIG. 2, the case 31 is located in the left-right direction near the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13 as viewed from above, on the front side of the hinge base 22 and on the rear side of the push-up rod 29 a of the actuator 29. The side wall 31e side on the outer side in the left-right direction is disposed on the edge 20 side of the rim, and is attached to the cowl 10.

Further, in the case of the first embodiment, the case 31 has an axial direction C1 extending in the left-right direction connecting the side wall 31e and the side wall 31f located on the center side in the left-right direction of the vehicle V along the horizontal direction, The axial direction PC of the front pillar 6 from the lower end 6d of the front pillar 6 to the upper end 6c as viewed from the side, that is, the axis from the lower end 6d on the front side to the upper end 6c displaced to the center in the left-right direction of the vehicle on the rear side. It arrange | positions so that it may orthogonally cross with respect to direction PC.

Further, as shown in FIG. 3, the case 31 uses a support bracket 12 having an L-shaped cross section fixed to the cowl panel 10b as a part of the metal cowl panel 10b. And attached to the cowl panel 10b. A metal reinforcing material (reinforcing plate) 11 for reinforcement is fixed to the fixing portion of the case 31 in the cowl panel 10b on the front side opposite to the protruding direction of the airbag 45. The reinforcing plate 11 has a substantially rectangular plate shape extending in the left-right direction, and an upper end 11a and a lower end 11b are fixed to the cowl panel 10b. The cowl panel 10b includes a support wall 10c that is inclined forward and supports the front wall 31c of the case 31, a flange portion 10d that extends forward from the upper end of the support wall 10c, and a lateral wall that extends rearward from the lower end of the support wall 10c. The reinforcing plate 11 has an upper end 11a fixed to the lower surface of the flange portion 10d, a lower end 11b fixed to the lateral wall portion 10e, and a supporting wall 10c and a reinforcing plate around the supporting wall 10c. 11, a box-shaped box structure composed of the flange portion 10d and the lower end 11b of the reinforcing plate 11 is formed to prevent deformation such as bending to the front side of the support wall 10c and to reinforce.

The support bracket 12 and the support wall 10c of the cowl panel 10b to which the case 31 is fixed are arranged in a direction from the front wall 31c side of the case 31 toward the opening wall 32, and from the lower end 5b of the windshield 5 toward the upper end 5c. A protruding inclination direction (case arrangement direction) CD on the upper surface 35c of the lower wall 31d (attachment wall portion 35) of the case 31 between the opening wall 32 and the front wall 31c is set along the inclination of the windshield 5. It is configured to be disposed above the front surface (upper surface) 5a in parallel with the inclination direction WD (see FIG. 11).

In addition, the inflator 38 housed in the case 31 utilizes the opening 40a as the upper surface 35c of the mounting wall portion 35 is disposed along the inclination of the front surface 5a of the windshield 5. The inflow direction FD of the inflation gas (especially mainstream) G that flows out from the plurality of gas discharge ports 39a and is supplied in the airbag 45 in the case 31 is along the upper surface 35c and the axial direction C2 of the inflator 38 (See FIG. 2), and as a result, parallel to the axial direction PC of the front pillar 6 along the upper surface (front surface) 5a of the windshield 5 and from the lower end 6d of the front pillar 6 toward the upper end 6c. As such, it will be mounted on the vehicle V. In the case of the embodiment, the outflow direction FD of the inflation gas G in the inflator 38 is offset from the inner edge 6b of the front pillar 6 toward the center in the left-right direction of the vehicle V so as not to interfere with the hinge mechanism 21, It is set in parallel with the axial direction PC of the front pillar 6. Further, the inflow direction FD of the inflation gas G from the inflator 38 is as high as about ½ of the thickness dimension T when the inflation is completed within the region of the protrusion gap PS and at the inflow portion of the airbag 45. The height H is maintained and disposed above the front surface (upper surface) 5a of the windshield 5 (see FIG. 12).

Further, on the upper side of the cowl panel 10b of the cowl 10, a cowl louver 10a made of a synthetic resin resin faces diagonally forward and downward from the front surface (upper surface) 5a side of the windshield 5 so as to face the lower wall 31d of the case 31. It arrange | positions so that it may connect moderately with respect to the upper surface 35c of (refer FIG. 3). The cowl louver 10a is cut out in the vicinity of the hinge base 22 so as not to interfere with the hinge arm 23.

As shown in FIGS. 8B, 10B, and 12B, the airbag 45 has a main body portion 46 that is inflated by inflating the inflation gas G, and a case 31. It is comprised as a substantially rectangular plate shape provided with the attaching part 50 attached. The main body 46 is disposed inside the pillar cover 48 that covers the front surface 6a side from the lower end 6d of the front pillar 6 to the middle in the vertical direction and the center side in the left-right direction of the vehicle V that is connected to the pillar cover 48. And a wind cover portion 47 that covers the front surface 5 a of the windshield 5 and extends to the mounting portion 50 in the case 31.

Further, the airbag 45 includes a vehicle body side wall portion 57 that becomes the vehicle body (body) 1 side on the lower surface side when the inflation is completed, and a pedestrian side wall portion 56 that becomes the pedestrian side on the upper surface side. (See FIGS. 5, 6 and 8). The vehicle body side wall 57 includes a portion from the pillar cover portion 48 that covers the front surface 6 a of the front pillar 6 to the attachment portion 50 that is attached to the case 31 in a planar shape. The airbag 45 is formed by overlapping a pedestrian side wall portion 56 and a vehicle body side wall portion 57 made of flexible woven fabric such as polyester or polyamide having the same outer shape, and sewing the outer peripheral edges with each other. It is a plane airbag type that is sewn and formed into a bag shape. And in the case of embodiment, when forming in a bag shape, the inflator 38 is accommodated in the inside.

As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the attachment portion 50 of the airbag 45 is within the region of the width dimension in the left-right direction in the base portion 47 a of the expansion area that inflates by inflating the inflation gas at the lower end of the window cover portion 47 (see FIG. 6A, the inner mounting portion 51 disposed in the right side of the fold E shown in A), and a base portion 47a that extends outward in the left-right direction from the inner mounting portion 51 and serves as the lower end of the wind cover portion 47. And an extending mounting portion 52 that is formed to project outside the region having the width dimension in the left-right direction of the expansion area (a region on the left side from the fold line E shown in FIG. 6A). The inner mounting portion 51 is disposed at a site of the vehicle body side wall portion 57 and is configured by mounting mounting holes 51a through which the bolts 41 of the inflator 38 are passed. Further, the extending attachment portion 52 is arranged in an area where the inflation gas does not flow and is provided with an attachment hole 52a through which the bolt 43 passes. The bolts 41 and 42 that pass through the mounting holes 51a and 52a pass through the mounting holes 35a and 35b of the mounting wall portion 35 of the case 31 and further pass through the through hole 12a of the support bracket 12 and are fixed to the nut 42. Thus, the airbag 45 is fixed to the case 31 and the cowl panel 10b together with the inflator 38 (see FIGS. 3 and 4).

The airbag 45 is disposed so that the extended attachment portion 52 extends outward in the left-right direction of the vehicle V in the base portion 47 a on the lower end side of the window cover portion 47. And the pillar cover portion 48, a concave portion 54 is formed that is recessed inward on the center side in the left-right direction of the vehicle V. And this recessed part 54 raises the shape which can prevent the interference with the hinge mechanism 21 arrange | positioned at the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13 at the time of expansion | deployment, ie, the hinge base 22 and the pushing-up rotation axis | shaft support part 25 side. The hinge arm 23 is formed in a shape along the inner edge (edge on the engine room ER side) of the hinge arm 23.

As shown in FIG. 6A, first, the airbag 45 is folded when the pedestrian side wall portion 56 and the vehicle body side wall portion 57 are flatly deployed, as shown in FIG. As shown, a fold line E perpendicular to the front edge 45af of the front end (lower end) 45a of the airbag 45 (perpendicular to the arrangement direction of the attachment holes 51a and 52a of the attachment portion 50) is provided at the position of the inner edge of the recess 54. At the side of the pedestrian side wall 56, the pillar cover 48 of the main body 46 is folded so as to be placed on the wind cover 47. Next, as shown in FIGS. 6B and 6C, the rear end (upper end) 45b side at the time of completion of the inflation is provided so that the airbag 45 can be easily deployed along the upper surface (front surface) 5a of the windshield 5 when the airbag 45 is deployed and inflated. Is provided with an inner roll folding portion 59 formed by performing roll folding on the side of the vehicle body side wall portion 57 so as to approach the front end 45a side. Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 6C and FIG. 6 and FIG. 3, a bellows fold portion 60 is provided between the inner roll fold portion 59 and the front end 45a to fold and fold the bellows to complete the folding. . The bellows-folding portion 61 is such that when the airbag 45 is deployed and inflated, the inner roll folding portion 59 protruding from the case 31 has an arrangement area for the pivot shaft portion 9a of the wiper 9 and the arm 9b (see FIGS. 2 and 7). As long as you can get over. Further, when the airbag 45 is folded, the inflator 38 is housed inside, and when the folding is completed, the airbag 45 is wrapped in a wrapping material for preventing collapse and housed in the case 31. Furthermore, a lead wire (not shown) extending outside the case 31 through the airbag 45 is connected to the inflator 38.

When the airbag 45 and the inflator 38 are stored in the case 31, the bolts 41 are inserted into the mounting holes 35 a so as to protrude from the mounting wall portion 35, and the bolts 43 are mounted on the mounting holes 52 a and 35 b of the airbag 45. If the spring nut (not shown) for retaining is inserted into the projecting bolts 41 and 43 and inserted from the mounting wall 35, the airbag assembly can be configured. The airbag assembly can be assembled to the vehicle V by passing through the through holes 12a of the corresponding support brackets 12 and fastening the nuts 42 to the respective bolts 41 and 43 (see FIGS. 3 and 4). Thus, the pedestrian airbag device M1 can be mounted on the vehicle V. When the pedestrian airbag device M1 is mounted on the vehicle V, a lead wire (not shown) extending from the inflator 38 to the outside of the case 31 is connected to an operation circuit (not shown).

In the pedestrian airbag apparatus M1 according to the first embodiment, when actuated, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 7A and 7B, the actuator 29 has an edge 20 in the left-right direction in the vicinity of the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13. The push-up rod 29a brought into contact with the receiving seat 28 on the lower surface 15 side is raised, the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13 is raised, and the airbag is placed between the cowl 10 and the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13. 45 protruding gaps PS are formed. At this time, the hinge mechanism 21 rotates the normal pivot shaft support portion 24 and the push-up rotation shaft support portion 25 with respect to the hinge base 22 and the mounting bracket 26 while the hinge arm 23 shears the shear pin 27. While being moved, the push-up turning shaft support portion 25 side on the front end 23d side is moved upward and obliquely upward from the normal turning shaft support portion 24 side on the rear end 23c side.

Then, the inflation gas G discharged from the gas discharge port 39a by the inflator 38 is supplied to the airbag 45, and the airbag 45 is inflated by inflowing the inflation gas G. 9 and A and B in FIG. 11, the door 33 is pushed open from the opening wall 32 of the case 31 fixed to the cowl 10 below the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13. It projects rearward and expands and expands so as to cover the front surface 6a side of the front pillar 6. In addition, when the airbag 45 is deployed and inflated, the folding is canceled in the reverse order of the folding process of the airbag 45. Therefore, as shown in FIGS. Then, as shown in FIG. 7B to FIG. 8A, the folding of the inner roll folding portion 59 is canceled, and further, as shown in FIG. 9B to FIG. 11B to A and B in FIG. 12, the folding of the fold line E is canceled, and the airbag 45 completes the deployment and inflation.

At that time, the case 31 fixed to the cowl 10 windshields the upper surface 35c of the lower wall 31d (mounting wall portion 35) of the case 31 between the front wall 31c and the opening wall 32 from which the airbag 45 protrudes. The airbag 45 protruding from the case 31 is guided to the upper surface 35c of the mounting wall portion 35 of the case 31, and is arranged so as to follow the inclination in the front-rear direction from the lower end 5b to the upper end 5c. The windshield 5 protrudes from the lower end 5b toward the upper end 5c along a front-rear direction inclination. The front-rear direction of inclination WD from the lower end 5b of the windshield 5 toward the upper end 5c is parallel to the axial direction PC from the lower end 6d of the front pillar 6 toward the upper end 6c of the front pillar 6 (see FIG. 11). Therefore, the airbag 45 protrudes from the case 31 so as to easily expand and inflate along the inclination of the front surfaces 5a and 6a of the windshield 5 and the front pillar 6.

Then, the inflator 38 changes the outflow direction FD of the inflation gas G supplied into the airbag 45 in the case 31 from the lower end 6d of the front pillar 6 to the upper end of the front pillar 6 above the front surface 5a of the windshield 5. It arrange | positions so that it may become parallel to the axial direction PC which goes to 6c. Therefore, when the airbag 45 protrudes from the case 31 and is unfolded to be deployed and inflated, the inflow direction of the inflation gas G (the outflow direction of the inflation gas G of the inflator 38) FD is changed to the front pillar. 6 in three dimensions, that is, parallel to the front pillar 6 when viewed from above or from the side (see FIGS. 9, 10, 11, and 12), the windshield 5 and the front pillar 6 It expands and expands smoothly along the inclination of the front surfaces 5a and 6a.

As a result, the airbag 45 is moved from the front wall 31c of the case 31 itself to the opening wall 32 as shown in FIGS. 7A and 7B, FIG. 9A and FIG. Due to the guide on the upper surface 35c side of the facing lower wall 31d, the windshield 5 and the front pillar 6 protrude from the case 31 along the inclination of the front surfaces 5a and 6a. Further, during the expansion and inflating of the airbag 45, B and A in FIG. 8, A and B in FIG. 9, B and A in FIG. 9, and B in FIG. 11 and A and B in FIG. As shown in FIG. 4, the wind cover 47 is prevented from being lifted from the front surface 5a of the windshield 5 by the guidance of the inflation gas G parallel to the front pillar 6 in the inflator 38, and at the same time, the pillar cover 48 is In addition, it is possible to suppress the situation of separation from the front surface 6a of the front pillar 6 including the lift that separates by the reaction after being pressed to the front surface 6a side of the front pillar 6, and to smoothly cancel the folding of the fold line E. 6 covers the front surface 6a side, and the airbag 45 completes the inflation.

In addition, the vehicle body side wall portion 57 disposed on the lower surface side of the airbag 45 extends from the pillar cover portion 48 that covers the front surface 6a of the front pillar 6 to the inner attachment portion 51 that is attached to the case 31. The vehicle body side wall 57 can be easily flattened from the front surface 5a of the windshield 5 to the front surface 6a of the front pillar 6, and the lift from the front pillar 6 can be further suppressed. Can expand and expand.

The pedestrian airbag apparatus M1 according to the first embodiment is simply configured in consideration of the arrangement direction of the case 31 and the outflow direction FD of the inflation gas G from the inflator 38. Since parts / members such as a guide member that is brought into contact with and guided by the airbag 45 are not used, the configuration can be simplified and the airbag 45 can be rapidly inflated and inflated.

Therefore, in the pedestrian airbag apparatus M1 of the first embodiment, as a simple configuration, the airbag 45 is rapidly deployed and inflated on the right edge 19 side of the hood panel 13 as well as the left edge 18 side, and The front pillar 6 side of the front pillar 6 can be covered stably.

In the case of the first embodiment, the airbag 45 is formed by performing roll folding that is wound on the side of the vehicle body side wall portion 57 so that the rear end 45b side at the time of completion of deployment is brought closer to the front end 45a side. A roll fold 59 is provided and housed in the case 31. Therefore, when the inflation gas G is introduced and the airbag 45 is unfolded and deployed and inflated, as shown in FIGS. 7B and 11B, the winding core 59a on the side of the vehicle body side wall 57 becomes the window. Even if the airbag 45 is lifted off from the windshield 5 in the middle of deployment, the folding of the airbag 45 is continued in order to cancel the folding so as to be unwound while maintaining the state of approaching the shield 5. At the time of cancellation, the airbag 45 itself is deployed and inflated by approaching the windshield 5, and the deployment and inflation can be completed smoothly covering the front surface 6 a side of the front pillar 6.

In the first embodiment, the flow direction FD of the inflation gas G of the inflator 38 is parallel to the axial direction PC from the lower end 6d of the front pillar 6 toward the upper end 6c above the front surface 5a of the windshield 5. Although illustrated, it does not need to be strictly parallel. That is, the outflow direction FD viewed from above is within the range in which the pillar cover portion 48 can prevent the front pillar 6 from lifting from the front surface 6a as shown in FIG. As a non-existing range, it may be set within the range of the outer outflow direction FDO and the inner outflow direction FDI in which the laterally and laterally shifted angles θO and θI to the outside and the inside are about ± 5 °. Similarly, the outflow direction FD viewed from the side is within a range in which the pillar cover portion 48 can prevent the front pillar 6 from being lifted from the front surface 6a as shown in FIG. Within the region, it may be set within the range of the upper outflow direction FDU and the lower outflow direction FDD where the upward and downward vertical shift angles θU and θD are about ± 5 °. Incidentally, as the lower side outflow direction FDD, the rear side of the airbag 45 at the time of completion of the inflation so as not to cause a situation in which the pillar cover part 48 is lifted away by a reaction after being pressed against the front surface 6a side of the front pillar 6. It is desirable that the rear end side of the lower outflow direction FDD does not intersect the front surface (upper surface) 5a of the windshield 5 in the area up to the end 45b.

Similarly, in the first embodiment, the protrusion inclination direction CD on the upper surface 35c side of the lower wall 31d of the case 31 is set above the front surface 5a of the windshield 5 and the inclination direction WD of the upper surface (front surface) 5a of the windshield 5. Although the case where they are arranged in parallel is shown, even if they are not strictly parallel, when the airbag 45 protrudes from the case 31, it does not cause a situation in which it greatly jumps in contact with the front surface 5 a of the windshield 5. , About ± 5 ° may be displaced.

Furthermore, when the axial direction PC of the front pillar 6 of the vehicle V and the front surface 5a of the windshield 5 are curved three-dimensionally, the average axial direction PC and the inclination direction WD of the area covered by the airbag 45 The outflow direction FD and the protruding inclination direction CD may be set on the basis of the angle of

Further, in the pedestrian airbag device M1 of the first embodiment, when the airbag 45 is folded, the inner roll folding portion 59 is formed, and then the bellows folding that can quickly eliminate the folding to the portion 61 of a predetermined length is performed. The folded airbag 45 is stored in the case 31 so as to be provided with the portion 60. Therefore, when the airbag 45 is deployed and inflated, as shown in FIGS. 7A and 7B, when the airbag 45 projects rearward from the case 31, the bellows fold portion 60 causes the inner roll fold portion 59 to move the pivot shaft portion 9a of the wiper 9. It can be pushed backward without interfering with the arm 9b, and the inner roll folding part 59 can be smoothly expanded and expanded.

Further, in the airbag 45 of the first embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 9 and 10, when the inflation gas G is introduced to complete the deployment and expansion, the airbag 45 is disposed at the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13 by the recess 54. The main body portion 46 of the airbag 45 is arranged so that the pillar cover portion 48 covers the front surface 6 a of the front pillar 6, and the wind cover portion 47. Is arranged so as to cover the front surface 5 a of the windshield 5 and extend to the mounting portion 50 in the case 31.

Then, a recess 54 that prevents interference (contact) with the hinge mechanism 21 is formed on the front side of the pillar cover portion 48, and the pillar cover portion 48 itself that has completed the expansion from the wind cover portion 47 to the vehicle V It is formed so as to extend to the edge 45c side that is the outer side in the left-right direction, and the edge 45c side is easily lifted from the front surface 6a side of the front pillar 6 so as to be twisted to the center side in the left-right direction of the vehicle V. . However, the attachment portion 50 of the airbag 45 to the case 31 is arranged in addition to the inner attachment portion 51 disposed in the region of the width dimension in the left-right direction at the base portion 47a which is the lower end of the portion where the wind cover portion 47 is inflated. The extended mounting portion 52 is formed so as to extend outward in the left-right direction from the inner mounting portion 51 and project outside the region of the width dimension in the left-right direction at the base portion 47 a of the window cover portion 47. For this reason, the extended mounting portion 52 can resist the moment of lifting from the front pillar 6 of the pillar cover portion 48 and suppress the lifting.

Of course, since the extended mounting portion 52 can counter the torsional moment that rises from the front pillar 6 of the pillar cover portion 48 even during the expansion and inflation of the airbag 45, from the middle of the inflation and expansion of the airbag 45 to the completion of the deployment, It is possible to prevent the pillar cover portion 48 from being lifted from the front pillar 6.

In addition, as an airbag provided with the extension attachment part 52 which can prevent such interference with the hinge mechanism 21 and can prevent the pillar cover part 48 from being lifted, a second embodiment shown in FIGS. You may comprise like the airbag 45A of the airbag apparatus M2 for pedestrians.

In the pedestrian airbag device M2 of the second embodiment, the axial directions C1 and C2 of the case 31A and the inflator 38A are not perpendicular to the axial direction PC of the front pillar 6 when viewed from above, and Arranged along the direction. In the airbag 45A of the second embodiment, the case 31A to be stored is disposed along the left-right direction in the axial direction C1, and the front edge 45af of the front end 45a is also disposed along the left-right direction of the vehicle V. The area of the pillar cover portion 48 has the same area as that of the airbag 45 of the first embodiment, so that the area between the front edge 45af and the end edge 45c of the front end 45a is flatly deployed. The intersection angle θB is smaller than that of the airbag 45 as shown in FIGS. These points are only different from the first embodiment, and other configurations, for example, mounting in a direction from the front wall 31c of the case 31A toward the opening wall 32 (rear wall 31a) including the door portion 33 are provided. The expansion gas G discharged from the gas discharge port 39a (see FIG. 15) of the main body 39 through the projecting inclination direction CD of the upper surface 35c of the wall portion 35 (lower wall 31d) and the opening 40a (see FIG. 15) of the inflator 38A. The outflow direction FD is on the vertical plane along the front-rear direction along the front-rear direction inclinations of the windshield 5 and the front surfaces 5a of the front pillar 6 (inclination direction WD and axial direction) as in the first embodiment. It is arranged (in parallel with the PC) (see FIGS. 13 and 14). Further, the inflow direction FD of the inflation gas G from the inflator 38A is also set by maintaining a height H of about 1/2 of the thickness dimension when the airbag is inflated from the front surface 5a of the windshield 5. Yes. Further, as shown in FIG. 16, the airbag 45A is also folded in the same manner as in the first embodiment, housed in the case 31A, and the predetermined bolts 41 and 43 are fastened to the nut 42, and the pedestrian air The bag device M2 is attached and fixed to the cowl panel 10b.

In the pedestrian airbag apparatus M2 according to the second embodiment, during operation, the airbag 45A is deployed and inflated by causing the inflation gas G to flow as shown in FIGS. To complete. At that time, the airbag 45A is expanded and inflated by the recess 54 without interfering with the hinge mechanism 21 disposed at the rear end 16 of the hood panel 13, and the main body 46 of the airbag 45A is provided with a pillar cover. The portion 48 is disposed so as to cover the front surface 6a of the front pillar 6, and the wind cover portion 47 is disposed so as to cover the front surface 5a of the windshield 5 and extend to the attachment portion 50 in the case 31A.

Then, a recess 54 that prevents interference (contact) with the hinge mechanism 21 is formed on the front side of the pillar cover portion 48, and the pillar cover portion 48 itself that has completed the expansion from the wind cover portion 47 to the vehicle V It is formed so as to extend to the edge 45c side that is the outer side in the left-right direction, and the edge 45c side is easily lifted from the front surface 6a side of the front pillar 6 so as to be twisted to the center side in the left-right direction of the vehicle V. . However, the inner mounting portion 51 is disposed in the region of the width dimension in the left-right direction of the original portion 47a in which the mounting portion 50 of the airbag 45A to the case 31A is inflated at the lower end of the window cover portion 47 by inflating. In addition, it includes an extended mounting portion 52 that extends outward in the left-right direction from the inner mounting portion 51 and protrudes outside the region of the width dimension in the left-right direction at the base portion 47 a at the lower end of the window cover portion 47. It is configured. Therefore, the extended mounting portion 52 fixed to the case 31 </ b> A and the cowl panel 10 b (support bracket 12) by the bolt 43 and the nut 42 is lifted against the moment of lifting from the front pillar 6 of the pillar cover portion 48. Can be suppressed.

Of course, the extended mounting portion 52 can counter the torsional moment that rises from the front pillar 6 of the pillar cover portion 48 even during the expansion and inflation of the airbag 45A. It is possible to prevent the pillar cover portion 48 from being lifted from the front pillar 6.

And in the airbag apparatus M2 for pedestrians of 2nd Embodiment, regarding the attachment part 50 to the case 31A of the airbag 45A, in addition to the inner attachment part 51, it is only necessary to provide the extended attachment part 52. Since components / members such as a guide member that is brought into contact with the airbag 45A in the middle of inflation are not used, it can be simply configured and the airbag 45A can be rapidly deployed and inflated. Furthermore, since the airbag 45A does not interfere with the hinge mechanism 21 of the hood panel 13 by the predetermined recess 54, the airbag 45A can be rapidly inflated and inflated.

Therefore, even in the pedestrian airbag apparatus M2 of the second embodiment, as a simple configuration, the airbag 45A can be quickly deployed and inflated without interfering with the hinge mechanism 21 of the hood panel 13, and stably. The front surface 6a side of the front pillar 6 can be covered.

Further, in the second embodiment, the protruding inclination direction CD of the upper surface 35c of the mounting wall portion 35 (lower wall 31d) in the direction from the front wall 31c of the case 31A toward the opening wall 32 (rear wall 31a) provided with the door portion 33 is provided. The outflow direction FD of the inflation gas G discharged from the gas discharge port 39a of the main body 39 through the opening 40a of the inflator 38A is the same as that of the first embodiment on the vertical plane in the front-rear direction, It arrange | positions along the inclination of the front-back direction of the front surfaces 5a and 6a of the pillar 6. As shown in FIG. Therefore, the airbag 45 </ b> A can further be deployed and inflated while preventing the windshield 5 and the front pillar 6 from rising from the front surfaces 5 a and 6 a.

In the pedestrian airbag devices M1 and M2 of the first and second embodiments, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 13, the air protruding from the cases 31 and 31A is formed on the cowl panel 10b on the lower surface side of the cases 31 and 31A. Reinforcing materials (reinforcing plates) 11 and 11A capable of receiving the reaction force when the bags 45 and 45A protrude are attached. Therefore, the protruding direction of the airbags 45 and 45A protruding from the cases 31 and 31A can be stabilized, and the pillar cover portion 48 of the airbags 45 and 45A disposed so as to cover the front surface 6a of the front pillar 6 is provided. It is possible to smoothly expand and expand so as to cover the front surface 6a of the front pillar 6.

In addition, as such a reinforcing material (reinforcing plate), in addition to a box structure as shown in the figure, an angle material or the like in which a rib is provided on the supporting wall 10c so as to prevent deformation of bending to the front side of the supporting wall 10c. You may attach the reinforcing material 11A which consists of (refer the dashed-two dotted line of FIG. 4).

Moreover, as an airbag provided with the extension attachment part 52 which can prevent the interference with the hinge mechanism 21 as in the first and second embodiments and can prevent the pillar cover part 48 from being lifted, FIG. As in the pedestrian airbag apparatus M3 of the third embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the present invention is applied to an airbag 45B in which pillar cover portions 48 are disposed on both left and right sides so as to cover the left and right front pillars 6 and 6 of the vehicle. May be. In the pedestrian airbag device M3 of the third embodiment, the inner attachment portion 51 is disposed on the left and right sides of the airbag 45B on the side of the inflating base portion 47a of the lower end of the wind cover portion 47, and on the outside thereof, The extending attachment portions 52 and 52 are arranged.
