Abstract
Description
改良された医療システムは、好ましくは、カテーテルと画像形成システムを含むと共に、短時間で身体組織の広範囲に亘る領域を動的に撮像できるように形成されている。以下に説明する内容は、改良された医療装置を用いた光学的画像形成方法の一実施例である。最初に、実質的に膨張する液体が、長い管状部材により身体管腔内に導入される。次に、光源により広域帯光パルスを発生し、その光パルスを組織用パルスとリファレンスパルスとに分割する。組織用パルスは画像形成体によって身体管腔又は他の身体組織の最初の部位に向けて照射され、身体管腔等から反射した組織用パルスは画像形成体により受光(受信)される。次に、リファレンスパルスの一時的持続時間と組織用パルスの空間形状に対応した光波を生成するために、反射した前記組織用光パルスを、タイムゲートにおいてリファレンスパルスと混合し、そして、複数の検出器によって前記生成された光波を検出する。最後に、身体管腔の第2の部位を撮像するために、内部コアを、好ましくは中心軸芯回りに回転すると共に中心軸芯に沿った長さ方向に移動する。
Claims (29)
- 基端部と先端部を有すると共に、前記先端部が生体内に挿入可能で身体組織を光学的に撮像できるようになっているカテーテルであって、細長い管状部材と内部コアとを備えたカテーテルと、
前記内部コアを、前記細長い管状部材内で中心軸芯回りに回転させると共に、中心軸芯に沿って軸芯方向に移動させるようになっている制御システムと、
前記内部コアに光学的に接続されると共に、広域帯光パルスを発生する光源と、
前記光源及び前記内部コアに光学的に接続されると共に、混合器と画像形成体とを有し、前記光パルスを組織用パルスとリファレンスパルスとに分割するように構成された可干渉性光学的画像形成システム部と、を備え、
前記内部コアは前記組織用パルスを身体組織に向けて照射するように構成され、
前記細長い管状部材は、身体組織に液体を導入するための開口を有し、
前記混合器は、身体組織から反射した組織用パルスをリファレンスパルスに混合し、リファレンスパルスの一時的持続時間と反射した組織用パルスの空間形状とに対応した光波を出力するように構成され、
前記画像形成体は前記光波を検出する複数の光検出器を有している、
動的な光学的画像形成システム。 - 前記可干渉性光学的画像形成システム部は、ガウス型スペクトル密度を作り出すために、前記光波の非ガウス型スペクトル密度をアルゴリズム形成するように構成されている請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記光源は、複数のスーパールミネンスダイオードを備えている請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記画像形成体は電荷結合素子を備えている請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記液体は実質的に膨張する液体である請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記液体は塩水である請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記画像形成システム部は、身体組織の三次元画像を形成するようになっている請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記制御システムは、前記内部コアを回転させると共に軸芯方向に移動させる駆動システムを有しており、
該駆動システムは、
ハウジングと、
該ハウジング内に配置されると共に前記内部コアの基端部に連結された回転継手と、
該回転継手を前記ハウジングに回転可能に支持する高速ボールベアリングと、
該ベアリングの先端部に配置されると共に前記細長い管状部材の内部空間から前記ハウジングを密封する高速シールと、
を備えている請求項1記載のシステム。 - 前記駆動システムは、前記内部コアを、毎秒略520回転以上の回転速度で回転させるように構成されている請求項8記載のシステム。
- 前記駆動システムは、前記内部コアを、毎秒略6.25mm以上の速度で軸芯方向に移動させるように構成されている請求項8記載のシステム。
- 前記内部コアの先端部に配置されると共に、組織用パルスを身体組織に向けて照射し、該身体組織から反射した組織用パルスを受光する光学的画像形成体を備えた請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記カテーテルは、基端部に注液口を備えており、該注液口は、細長い管状部材の内部に液体を導入するように構成され、前記導入された液は前記開口を通って身体組織へ導かれるようになっている請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記注液口は、毎秒略4cm3以下の割合で前記液体を導入するように構成されている請求項12記載のシステム。
- 前記画像形成システム部は、三次元画像を保存するためのメモリを備えている請求項7記載のシステム。
- 前記画像形成システム部は、表示装置を備えると共に、予め決められた比率で複数の三次元画像を表示するように構成されている請求項14記載のシステム。
- 前記画像形成システム部は、1回転で、身体組織の略512分割部位の画像を形成すると共に、毎秒略520回転以上の回転数で回転するように構成されている請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記内部コアと前記細長い管状部材との間の領域に、潤滑剤を注入している請求項1記載のシステム。
- 実質的に膨張する液体を、細長い管状部材を介して身体組織に導入することと、
光源から広域帯光パルスを発生させることと、
前記光パルスを組織用パルスとリファレンスパルスとに分割することと、
前記組織用パルスを、前記細長い管状部材内に配置された内部コア上に設けられた画像形成体により、身体組織の第1の部位に向けて照射することと、
前記身体組織から反射した前記組織用パルスを前記画像形成体によって受光することと、
反射した前記組織用パルスを前記リファレンスパルスに混合器内で混合し、前記リファレンスパルスの一時的持続時間と前記組織用パルスの空間形状に対応させて光波を発生させることと、
前記光波を複数の検出器で検出することと、
前記内部コアを中心軸芯回りに回転させることと、
身体組織の第2の部位の画像を形成するために、前記内部コアを中心軸芯に沿って軸芯方向に移動させること、
を有する身体組織の光学的画像形成方法。 - 前記組織用パルスを第1の部位に向けて照射することは、前記組織用パルスを、前記内部コアの先端部に設けられた光学的画像形成体によって第1の部位に照射することを含んでいる請求項18記載の方法。
- 前記内部コアを回転させる前に、検出された光波から第1の部位の画像を作り出すことを含む請求項18記載の方法。
- 第2の部位の画像を形成すると共に該画像を第1の部位の画像に結合することにより、身体組織の三次元画像を形成することを含む請求項20記載の方法。
- ガウス型スペクトル密度を作り出すために、前記光波の非ガウス型スペクトル密度をアルゴリズム形成することを含む請求項20記載の方法。
- 広域帯光パルスを発生させることは、複数のスーパールミネントダイオードを使用することを含んでいる請求項22記載の方法。
- 前記内部コアが1回転する間に前記身体組織の512分割部位の画像を形成するように、内部コアを回転させることを含む請求項18記載の方法。
- 前記内部コアを、毎秒略6.25mm以上の速度で、軸芯方向に移動させることを含む請求項18記載の方法。
- 前記液体の導入は、毎秒略4cm3以下の割合で前記液体を導入することを含む請求項18記載の方法。
- 各測定部位の画像を保存することを含む請求項20記載の方法。
- 予め決められた比率で、前記保存された画像を観察することを含む請求項27記載の方法。
- 実質的に膨張する液体を、細長い管状部材を介して身体組織に導入することと、
光源から広域帯光パルスを発生することと、
前記光パルスを組織用パルスとリファレンスパルスとに分割することと、
前記組織用パルスを、前記細長い管状部材内に配置された内部コア上に設けられた画像形成体により、身体組織の第1の部位に向けて照射することと、
前記身体組織から反射した前記組織用パルスを前記画像形成体によって受光することと、
反射した前記組織用パルスを前記リファレンスパルスに混合器内で混合し、前記リファレンスパルスの一時的持続時間と前記組織用パルスの空間形状に対応させて光波を発生させることと、
前記光波を複数の検出器で検出することと、
前記内部コアを中心軸芯回りに比較的高速で回転させることと、
患者を安全な状態に維持しつつ、生体の血管の一つの区画の画像を形成するために、前記内部コアを中心軸芯に沿って比較的高い速度で軸芯方向に移動させること、を有する生体の血管を光学的に画像形成する方法。
