The present invention relates to a technique related to a print image inspection performed based on inspection image data created by reading a print image, and more particularly to a technique for accumulating defect information when an image defect is found in an inspection.
A technique is known in which a print image formed by an image forming apparatus is picked up and an inspection of the print image is performed using the obtained inspection image data.
In the following
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open Publication No. 2003-228561 discloses a technique for displaying a reduced image based on defect inspection image data corresponding to a history of image defect detection.
However, in the techniques of
An object of the present invention is to manage defect information in consideration of security of defect inspection image data when a defect is found by image defect inspection.
The control device of the present invention includes an image forming unit that forms a print image based on original image data, a generation unit that generates inspection image data by reading the print image, and the print image using the inspection image data. Control of an image forming system comprising: inspection means for performing defect inspection of the image; and storage means for storing information relating to defect inspection image data, which is inspection image data in which an image defect of the printed image is detected by the defect inspection In the control device that performs the instruction, when an image defect of the print image is detected by the defect inspection, the test chart printing is performed on the image forming unit based on test chart data having contents different from the original image data. An image formation instruction means for instructing image formation; and a test chart based on the test chart print image to the generation means. Comprising a generation instruction means for generating an instruction preparative inspection image data, wherein the storage means, as the information regarding the defect inspection image data, storing the test chart inspection image data.
An image forming system is a system that includes image forming means, generation means, inspection means, and storage means, and may be configured using a single casing, or may be divided into a plurality of casings. It may be configured, or further distributed on the network. The image forming means has a printer function for forming a print image on paper such as paper based on electronic original image data. The generation unit is a unit that generates electronic inspection image data by imaging the print image. The inspection means is provided for performing a defect inspection for inspecting an image defect in quality of the printed image based on the inspection image data. The defect inspection may be performed using only the inspection image data to be inspected, or by comparison with other inspection image data, comparison with the original image data used when forming the print image, or the like. Is also possible. The storage means is means for storing information relating to defect inspection image data, which is inspection image data in which an image defect of the printed image is detected by the defect inspection. The storage is performed by storing the information in a storage unit including a hard disk and a semiconductor memory.
The control device is a device that gives a control instruction to the image forming system, and may be incorporated in the image forming system and integrally formed, or may be separately configured using a PC (personal computer) or the like. . Further, when the image forming system includes a plurality of devices such as an image forming device provided with an image forming unit and an inspection device provided with an inspection unit, the image forming system may be incorporated into any of the devices. The control device has an arithmetic control function, and issues a control instruction to the image forming system in cooperation with application software (program) that defines the operation of the arithmetic control function. This control instruction may directly control the operation of each means, or may give a control instruction to a control unit of the means provided in each means.
The test chart data is electronic image data prepared for testing the processing status of the image forming means. In general, there is test chart data corresponding to the contents of defect inspection. These may be provided inside the image forming system or may be input from an external device whenever necessary. The image expressed by the test chart data handled by the image formation instruction unit is not particularly limited, but is particularly preferably an image that facilitates defect inspection of the printed image.
The control device executes the image formation instructing unit when an image defect in the print image is detected, and prints the test chart print image corresponding to the test chart data. Then, the generation instruction means generates test chart inspection image data obtained by reading and processing the test chart print image. As a result, storage means can be implemented, and not the defect inspection image data but the test chart inspection image data can be stored as the information related to the defect inspection image data, and the state of the image defect can be left. Therefore, for example, even when it is difficult to store defect inspection image data for security reasons, it is possible to record the actual state of the image defect, and it is easy to perform quality control and maintenance inspection of the printed image. .
When a defect in the print image is detected by the defect inspection, the control device forms a test chart print image on the image forming unit based on test chart data having contents different from the original image data. Image forming instruction means for instructing, and generation instruction means for instructing the generation means to generate test chart inspection image data based on the test chart print image. The storage unit stores the test chart inspection image data as information on the defect inspection image data. Note that the control device can issue an instruction including a plurality of contents to the image forming apparatus at one time. For example, the control apparatus can provide an instruction in which the image forming instruction unit and the generation instruction unit are integrated. That is, by setting the test chart inspection image data to be automatically generated when the test chart print image is formed in advance, the image formation instruction means and the generation instruction means are apparently displayed. It can be done only by executing the means.
Note that the image formation instruction unit, the generation instruction unit, and the storage unit do not necessarily have to be implemented based on one test chart data. For example, the image formation instructing unit and the corresponding generation instructing unit are performed with respect to a plurality of test charts that are determined to be appropriate, and an appropriate number of the obtained test chart inspection image data is stored by the storing unit. It is also possible to take the form.
Preferably, in the control device of the present invention, the image forming system includes a holding unit that holds a test chart data group, and the test chart data used in the image formation instruction unit is selected from the test chart data group. The As described above, by selecting test chart data from a plurality of test chart data held in advance in the inside, it is possible to perform rapid processing.
Preferably, in the control device of the present invention, the selection is performed based on the similarity between the content expressed by the original image data and the content expressed by the test chart data. Preferably, in the control device of the present invention, the similarity is determined by a similarity evaluation of a position or size of at least one element of a character, a graphic, and a photograph. This increases the possibility that an image defect appearing in the previous defect inspection image data appears in the test chart data inspection image data. Preferably, in the control device according to the present invention, the selection is performed by selecting a test chart determined in advance according to the type of the image defect. In other words, the test chart is classified in advance according to the type of defect so that it is easy to reproduce the defect or emphasize the defect.
Preferably, the control device of the present invention includes inspection instruction means for instructing the inspection means to perform defect inspection of the test chart print image using the test chart inspection image data, and the storage means The test chart inspection image data is stored when a defect similar to the image defect of the printed image is detected by the defect inspection based on the instruction to perform the defect inspection. When there is no defect in the test chart print image, it does not make sense to store the test chart inspection image data as information on the defect inspection image data. Therefore, the test chart print image is subjected to defect inspection, and storage is performed when an image defect is detected. If no defect is detected, the same processing can be repeated using another test chart data again. It is also possible to leave defect inspection information within a range that does not impair the security of defect inspection image data. That is, for example, a portion having a security problem may be deleted, or the defect inspection image data may be stored after performing an encryption process. Alternatively, detailed information for identifying the defect, such as the defect occurrence range (position and size), defect type, defect degree (density deviation degree, position deviation magnitude, etc.), is alternatively recorded. You may perform treatments, such as doing.
Preferably, in the control device of the present invention, the image forming system includes a creating unit that creates the test chart data based on the original image data. To be based on the original image data refers to deleting a part of the original image data or modifying a part or all of the original image data. By deleting or modifying a part that hinders storage due to security or the like, it is possible to avoid problems that cannot be stored. In addition, the test chart data that emphasizes the defect may be created by modifying the part where the defect has occurred.
Preferably, in the control device of the present invention, the creating means is performed by modifying the content of at least one element of a character, a figure, and a photograph expressed by the original image data. In other words, the contents are specified by identifying the range in which these are described by means of recognizing the existence of characters, figures, photographs, etc., or the description is modified by means of recognizing the contents of characters, figures, pictures, etc. To do. Here, the term “modification” refers to changing the content by replacing with another previously prepared image, or performing image processing such as blurring, filtering, or encryption on the original. Characters, graphics, photographs, and the like are highly likely to be important for security, and are highly likely to cause defects due to their complicated print patterns. Therefore, it is meaningful to change the content of at least one of these elements.
Preferably, the control device of the present invention includes an acquisition unit that acquires security information related to the original image data, the image formation instruction unit, and the generation based on the security information corresponding to the defect inspection image data. Instruction means, and determination means for determining whether or not to store the test chart inspection image data by the storage means. The security information is information indicating the confidential status of the inspection image data. For example, the security information may be information that is embedded in the original image data or separately input when the original image data is input. It may be information obtained by being input at the time of inspection. This security information may be confidential level information having at least two ranks, that is, information including at least information on a level not considering security and a level considering security. It may be confidential area information representing a confidential area. Based on the security information, the determination unit selects whether to store the defect inspection image data or alternatively to store the test chart inspection image data as information related to the defect inspection image data.
FIG. 1 is a functional block diagram showing an outline of the apparatus configuration of the present embodiment.
The
The
Next, the inspection / control device 30 will be described. The inspection / control apparatus 30 is realized by installing a program that defines the operation of a general PC. That is, various processes can be realized by operating the arithmetic processing function using the CPU, the main storage device, and the like by a program including the OS. In addition, a storage device such as a hard disk, an external communication function, and the like can be used as appropriate. Each processing component described below is realized by organically utilizing such a function.
The main functional configuration of the inspection / control apparatus 30 includes an input /
The input /
The
The
The
The
The
The security
The test chart

The

Next, a typical processing flow will be described using a flowchart. The description will be given in the order of [1] an example in which the
[1] First, processing when the
FIG. 3 is an example of the history information table 110 displaying the history information managed by the history
On the other hand, the
FIG. 4 is a table 150 showing the status of the type occurrence frequency for each type of defect obtained based on the history information as shown in FIG. The items represent the
FIG. 5 is a flowchart illustrating a modification of the processing example described with reference to FIG. The same steps are denoted by the same reference numerals and description thereof is omitted. The difference between FIG. 5 and FIG. 2 is the processing after it is determined not to delete in step S16. In this case, the
On the other hand, if the defect is a defect that covers the entire page, such as a skew in which the position of the entire print image is shifted or a density defect in which the density of the entire print image is shifted to the low density side or the high density side, the substitute
A plurality of example embodiments as described above are not necessarily intended to be implemented in a fixed manner. That is, it is possible to allow the user to select which mode to implement from among a plurality of modes each time. In this case, you may give the option which leaves the selection not to delete to a user input completely.
[2] Next, processing when the security
The determination criteria in the defect inspection in step S38 can be easily performed by setting a table or the like that links the contents of the confidential level information and the contents of the defects. It is also effective to have command information on what kind of security processing should be performed in a confidential level information situation.
Next, an example when security processing is performed based on character information will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing the flow of processing. Here, after receiving a print command (S50) and performing a defect inspection (S52), information relating to confidentiality of characters is input as security information (S54). The
If it is determined that there is character data, the security
On the other hand, if a defect is detected, the character information processing unit 106 performs mask composition, that is, disables browsing of data in the character area (S76). Inability to browse specifically refers to deletion, encryption, camouflage, etc. of the character information at the data level, but simply, deletion, encryption, camouflage, etc. at the image level to be formed It may be. The
(S78)。 If it is determined in step S68 that the entire process including the character area should be performed, history information is acquired (S78), but the inspection image data is deleted regardless of the defect detection result (S72). Then, the corresponding history information is edited (S78).
FIG. 8 is a diagram for specifically explaining the processing in step S72. The
FIG. 9 is a view similar to FIG. 8, but the
(S96)。 FIG. 10 is a flowchart illustrating an example of security processing relating to a confidential area. Here, after receiving the print command (S80) and after defect inspection is performed (S82), a confidential area designated by the user is input as security information (S84). Therefore, a mask is generated to make this confidential area unviewable (S86). Subsequently, history information is acquired (S88), and the presence / absence of a defect is determined (S90). If there is no defect, the inspection image data is deleted and the fact is recorded in the history information (S92). On the other hand, when a defect is detected, a process is performed so that the confidential area cannot be browsed by mask composition (S94). Then, the masked defect inspection image data is stored, and the link information is added to the history information (S96).
FIG. 11 is a flowchart showing an example of security processing by encryption. Here, after receiving a print command (S100) and after a defect inspection is performed (S102), information about a print processing page that requires encryption as security information is input by user input or the like. (S104). Subsequently, history information is acquired (S106), and the presence / absence of a defect is determined (S108). If there is no defect, the inspection image data is deleted and the fact is recorded in the history information (S110). On the other hand, if a defect is detected, the security
[3] Next, processing when the test chart
FIG. 13 shows an example of an image (hereinafter referred to as a test chart) represented by test chart data included in the test
A graphic test chart 202 shown in FIG. 13B is a test chart including only a graphic. For this graphic test chart 202, it is effective to prepare various types of test chart data according to the shape of the graphic, arrangement, number, color, line thickness, and the like. A photographic test chart 204 in FIG. 13C is a test chart including only photographs. Similarly, various variations of the photo test chart 204 such as a landscape photo, a person photo, and an animal photo can be prepared. A character graphic test chart 206 in FIG. 13D is a test chart in which characters and graphics are combined. In addition, various combinations such as a combination of characters and photos, a combination of photos and graphics, a combination of characters, photos, and graphics are possible, and there are various arrangements and sizes. Therefore, it is possible to prepare a test chart appropriately combining the test charts included in the database of the character test chart 200, the graphic test chart 202, and the photographic test chart 204, and efficiently prepare a large amount of data by increasing the variations. Is possible.
Even when various test charts are prepared in this way, there is a possibility that a test chart having a high degree of similarity is not necessarily obtained. Therefore, it is also effective to create test chart data based on inspection image data and original image data subjected to defect inspection using the
Each aspect shown above is a typical example, Comprising: This invention is not limited to these examples. In each example, it is also possible to appropriately change the flow of processing. For example, the character information analysis (S56) and mask generation (S70) in FIG. 7 and the original image data analysis (S126) and substitute test chart selection (S128) in FIG. 12 are determined to be performed using these. By carrying out after that, it is possible to eliminate waste of processing.
