Abstract

Description
図3Aを参照するに、マルチバンドホーン200内で第3のホーン245の表面として若しくは導波管100内で壁として使用できる模範的なFSS300が示されている。FSS300は、高誘電率及び/又は高透過率を有する基板310からなってよい。例えば、誘電率及び/又は透過率は3より大きくてよい。媒質を通って移動する信号の伝搬速度はc/√εrμrに等しく、μrは媒質の相対透過率、εrは媒質の相対誘電率(誘電率)であり、基板310の誘電率及び/又は透過率の増加は基板310内の信号の伝搬速度及びそれによる信号の波長を低減する。
図5Aを参照するに、代替的な導波管組立体505を有するマルチバンドホーンアンテナ500が示される。導波管組立体505は、各導波管のそれぞれの動作周波数範囲の外側のRF信号による導波管組立体の相互干渉を最小化することによって、マルチバンドホーンアンテナ500に対して良好なホーン供給特性を提供する。断面ライン5B−5Bに沿った導波管組立体505の断面図が、図5Bに示される。導波管組立体は、複数の同心状の導波管、例えば第1の導波管510、第2の導波管515及び第3の導波管520を含んでよい。更に、信号プローブ511,516,521は、導波管510,515,520内でRF信号を生成するため、それぞれの導波管510,515,520のそれぞれ内に配置できる。
基板の相対誘電率を増加させるために使用できる材料の1例は、酸化チタン(TiO2)である。TiO2は、材料のc軸に直角に測定される際、86付近の相対誘電率(誘電率)及び0.0002の損失係数を有し、c軸に平行に測定される際、170付近の相対誘電率及び0.0016の損失係数を有する。その他の使用できる材料は、酸化バリウム(BaO)の結晶であり、34の誘電率及び0.001の損失係数を有する。更に、Vancouver,WAのKyocera Industrial Ceramics Corpからそれぞれ入手可能なSB350,SL390及びSV430誘電セラミック、France, Sevres CedexのTemex Corpから入手可能なE2000,E3000,E4000、MA, AvonのCuming Corpから入手可能なC−Stock AK、及び、CT, RogersのRogers Corpから入手可能なRT/6010LMのような、多くの他の使用できる材料が市販されている。

Claims (11)
- 導波管キャビティを画成する少なくとも1つの外面と、
前記導波管キャビティ内に位置する少なくとも1つの内面とを含む導波管において、
前記内面は、少なくとも1つの基板に結合される複数の周波数選択表面要素を有する周波数選択表面(FSS)を含み、該基板は、第1の伝搬媒質内で第1の波長を有するRF信号が、前記周波数選択表面を通過できるように、第1の伝搬媒質を画成し、
前記周波数選択表面は、第2の伝搬媒質に結合され、RF信号が、第2の伝搬媒質では、隣接する周波数選択表面要素の中心間の物理的距離の少なくとも2倍の大きさの第2の波長を有するようにする、導波管。 - 前記基板は、3よりも大きい相対誘電率及び/又は相対透過率を有する誘電体を含む、請求項1記載の導波管。
- 前記周波数選択表面は、複数の誘電層を含む、請求項1記載の導波管。
- 前記周波数選択表面は、第2の伝搬媒質のインピーダンスに第1の伝搬媒質のインピーダンスを合わせるための少なくとも1つの誘電層を含む、請求項1記載の導波管。
- マイクロ波照射用アンテナであって、
第1のホーンと、
前記第1のホーン内に配置され、少なくとも1つの基板に結合される複数の周波数選択表面要素を有する少なくとも1つの周波数選択表面を含む第2のホーンを少なくとも1つ含み、前記基板が、第1の伝搬媒質内で第1の波長を有するRF信号が、前記周波数選択表面を通過できるように、第1の伝搬媒質を画成し、
前記周波数選択表面は、第2の伝搬媒質に結合され、RF信号が、第2の伝搬媒質では、隣接する周波数選択表面要素の中心間の物理的距離の少なくとも2倍の大きさの第2の波長を有するようにする、アンテナ。 - 前記第2のホーン内に配置され、少なくとも1つの周波数選択表面を含む第3のホーンを少なくとも1つ含む、請求項5記載のアンテナ。
- 前記周波数選択表面は、第2の伝搬媒質のインピーダンスに第1の伝搬媒質のインピーダンスを合わせるための少なくとも1つの誘電層を含む、請求項5記載のアンテナ。
- 導波管ホーンアンテナであって、
テーパの付いた中空の金属製コンダクターと、
前記ホーンの少なくとも1つの壁を画成する要素のアレイと基板とを含み、伝播する電磁波を閉じ込めてガイドするように配置される周波数選択表面と、
前記基板は、約3よりも大きい誘電率及び透過率の少なくとも何れか一方を有する、導波管ホーンアンテナ。 - 前記周波数選択表面は、同心のリング状スロットからなる、請求項8記載の導波管ホーンアンテナ。
- ホーンアンテナの性能を改善する方法であって、
前記ホーンアンテナの少なくとも1つの壁を周波数選択表面で形成するステップと、
3より大きな値に前記周波数選択表面を含む基板の誘電率及び透過率の少なくとも一方を増加させることにより、少なくとも1の前記アンテナのグレーティンローブを選択的に減少させるステップとを含む、方法。 - 前記周波数選択表面の隣接する要素間の間隔を減少させることにより、少なくとも1の前記アンテナのグレーティンローブを選択的に減少させるステップとを含む、請求項10記載の方法。
