本発明は、内輪を固定し、外輪を回転させる外輪回転型転がり軸受であって、特に鉄鋼材による板材等を製造する多段式圧延機のバッキングロールに用いる外輪回転型転がり軸受に関する。

【従来の技術】
一般に、鉄鋼材による板材を製造する圧延機は、圧延時に鉄鋼材を圧迫挟持して圧延するワークロールの軸方向の撓みを防止して均一な厚みの板材を得るために、ワークロールの外周面を転動自在に支える一または複数段の中間ロールと、この中間ロールをその外側で支えてワークロールの撓みを防止するバッキングロールからなる多段式の圧延機が多く用いられる。

このバッキングロールは、静止しているバッキングロール軸に複数の外輪回転型複列円筒ころ軸受を設置し、この外輪を中間ロールに押圧して中間ロールの外側への変形を防止し、これによりワークロールの撓みを防止している。
このようなバッキングロールに設置する従来の外輪回転型円筒ころ軸受は、2列に配置された円筒ころの外側に、静止している内輪に2個のシールリングを設け、これを外輪にOリングを介在させて取付け、外輪とともに回転する受け部材に摺接させて軸受の内部と外部をシールして圧延油の侵入を防止すると共に、2列に配置された円筒ころの中央部に設けた潤滑油供給孔にオイルミスト状の潤滑油を供給し、円筒ころとシール構造の間の内輪に設けた潤滑油回収孔から潤滑油を回収して潤滑を行っている(例えば、特許文献1参照。)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上述した従来の技術においては、転動体としての円筒ころの内側に設けた潤滑油供給孔からオイルミストまたはオイルエアにより供給したミスト状の潤滑油を静止している内輪に設けた孔長の長い潤滑油回収孔から回収するようにしているため、液状になった潤滑油が時として柱状となってその表面張力および柱状現象による液柱の側面の摩擦力により潤滑油回収孔を閉塞してしまうことがある。

この閉塞が、一方の潤滑油回収孔で発生した場合には、両側の円筒ころへの潤滑油の供給の均等性が損なわれて閉塞された側の円筒ころへの潤滑油の供給が不足し、両方の潤滑油回収孔で発生した場合には、潤滑油の供給が停止して軸受寿命を低下させる恐れがあるという問題がある。
本発明は、上記の問題点を解決するためになされたもので、転動体に常に均等に潤滑油を供給することができ、かつ外部からの圧延油等の侵入を防止することができるシール構造を有する外輪回転型転がり軸受を提供することを目的とする。

本発明は、上記課題を解決するために、外輪と静止軸に固定された内輪と前記外輪と内輪との間に複数列に配設された転動体と該複数列の転動体の列間に形成した潤滑油供給口とを備えた外輪回転型転がり軸受において、前記複数列の転動体の軸受外部に面した側に、外部と連通する排気孔を有し、前記外輪の内周面に設けた側板嵌合面にシール体を介在させて嵌合する側板と、該側板に摺接し、前記内輪に固定したVリングシールとからなるシール構造を設けたたことを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下に、図面を参照して本発明による外輪回転型転がり軸受の実施の形態について説明する。
第1実施の形態例
図1は本発明の実施の形態を示す断面図、図2は図1のA部拡大図、図3は実施の形態の円筒ころ軸受を適用する多段式圧延機を示す概略側面図、図4は実施の形態の円筒ころ軸受を適用したバッキングロール軸を示す概略正面図である。

26はVリングシールであり、天然ゴムや合成ゴム等の弾性材料で略V字形の断面形状を有するリング状のシールであって、シールド板25の嵌合部25aの外周面に接着または圧入等により固定し、リップ部26aを側板21の内輪15側で側板21の外側に設けたシール面21bに摺接させて設置する。

このように、静止体である内輪15に固定したVリングシール26のリップ部26aが、回転体である側板21のシール面21bに摺接して接触式シールを構成し、これによりVリングシール26に作用する遠心力を排除して常に安定した押付け力によるシール機能を発揮する接触式シールとすることができる。
また、円筒ころ12の軸受外部に面した側に側に設けた側板21と、この側板21に摺接するVリングシール26と、このVリングシール26を内輪15に固定するシールド板25と、外輪14との間に介在させた側板21の外周面に設けたシール体としてのOリング22aと、側板21の排気孔23とにより本実施の形態のシール構造を構成する。

上記のように(a)〜(c)に示す態様の側板21は、その軸方向の長さを図1に示した側板21に較べて省略したOリング溝21aの溝壁部の長さ分短縮することができ、複列円筒ころ軸受11の軸方向長さを短縮して複列円筒ころ軸受11の小型化を図ることができる。
また、複列円筒ころ軸受11の軸方向長さを同一とした場合には、円筒ころ12の軸方向長さを伸張させることが可能になり、複列円筒ころ軸受11の定格荷重を向上させることができる。

上記の構成の作用について説明する。
複列円筒ころ軸受11を多段式圧延機のバッキングロールとして用いる場合は、バッキングロール軸5に複数の複列円筒ころ軸受11の内輪15を嵌合して1本のバッキングロールとし、複数のバッキングロールを第2の中間ロール4bの周囲に配置して複列円筒ころ軸受11の外輪14を第2の中間ロール4bに当接させる。

そして、外輪14をサドル8に設けた偏芯リングをギア6により回転させて第2の中間ロール4bに押圧し、一対のワークロール2間の間隔を所定の間隔に保持すると共に圧延時にワークロール2に発生する軸方向の撓みを防止する。
一対のワークロール2による鉄鋼材等の冷間圧延時には、ワークロール2や各ロール間の潤滑や冷却および圧延作業の円滑化を図るために比較的粘度の低い多量の圧延油がハウジング1内に散布される。

一方、複列円筒ころ軸受11の内部には、その潤滑のためにオイルミストまたはオイルエアによる比較的粘度の高いミスト状の潤滑油が、加圧されたエアによりバッキングロール軸5の軸内潤滑油供給孔9、放射連通孔9a、潤滑油グルーブ10、一対の内輪15により形成された内側グルーブ17aおよび潤滑油供給孔16を経由して供給され、円筒ころ12と外輪転動面14a、内輪転動面15aとの間や円筒ころ12と保持器13との間等を潤滑する。

この時、浮輪18の凸部の内周面の幅は、外側グルーブ17bの幅より小さく、かつ凸部の両側の側面はテーパ面となっており、また側板21に設けた排気孔23は円筒ころ12の両側に通気抵抗が同等となるように同等に開口し、軸受内部の加圧されたエアを均等に排出するように構成されているので、供給されたミスト状の潤滑油は両側の円筒ころ12へ均等に配分される。

この場合に、外輪14の下側に溜る潤滑油の油面は外輪14の回転による遠心力により図1に示す2点鎖線Bより下方に位置するようになるため油面で排気孔23を塞ぐことはなく、また側板21に設けた排気孔23は横穴であり、かつ側板21と共に回転する排気孔23であるので、液状となって排気孔23付近に付着した潤滑油は遠心力により外輪14側に振り飛ばす油切り効果を発揮し、排気孔23に付着した液状の潤滑油もその潤滑油が排気孔23の開口を膜で覆うためには表面張力が遠心力に打勝つ必要があり、柱状現象の発生を防止する。

この結果、排気孔23から外部へ排出される潤滑油は、エア中に浮遊する潤滑油の微小な霧または蒸気のみとなり、極微量の潤滑油が多量の圧延油と混合するものの圧延する製品への影響は無視できる程度になる。
また、ハウジング1内に散布された圧延油の複列円筒ころ軸受11の内部への侵入は、圧延油の油滴の侵入をシールド板25により防止し、霧状または蒸気となった圧延油の側板21の排気孔23からの侵入を上記の外部に排出される加圧されたエアにより妨げ、側板21の外周面からの侵入を外輪の側板嵌合部14cとの間に介在させたシール体(本実施の形態ではOリング22a)により遮断し、その内周面からの侵入を側板21のシール面21bと摺接する内輪15に固定したVリングシール26により遮断して粘度の高い潤滑油への粘度の低い圧延油の混入による潤滑不良を防止する。

以上により、複列円筒ころ軸受11の良好な潤滑状態を維持して複列円筒ころ軸受11の寿命低下を防止する。
以上説明したように、本実施の形態では、円筒ころの両側に配置した側板に排気孔を設けて加圧されたエアを排出し、この側板をOリングとVリングシールにより静止した内輪と回転する外輪との間を遮断したことによって、圧延油の侵入を防止することができると共に良好な潤滑状態を維持して複列円筒ころ軸受の寿命の低下を防止することができる。

また、外輪と共に回転する側板に同等の開口を有する排気孔を設けたことによって、排気孔が潤滑油により閉塞されることを防止して、複列円筒ころ軸受の両側の円筒ころに常に均等に潤滑油を供給することができる。
なお、上記の実施の形態例では、本発明を外輪回転型複式ころ軸受に適用した場合について説明したが、玉軸受や円錐ころ軸受等の転がり軸受であって、外輪回転型の転がり軸受であればどのような転がり軸受であっても本発明を適用することができる。

前記複数列の転動体の軸受外部に面した側に、外部と連通する排気孔を有し、前記外輪の内周面に設けた側板嵌合面にシール体を介在させて嵌合する側板と、該側板に摺接し、前記内輪に固定したVリングシールとからなるシール構造を設けたことを特徴とする外輪回転型転がり軸受。
